Great unit for the price!
So far after i bought this item it has been great for the season here in NYC. It gets really REALLY cold for the btu rating. For living on a top floor apartment where it gets like an oven in the summer, it has kept the temp at bay for the last few hours now with the energy saver feature. I would reccomend this to every person looking for an affordable unit and is still a brand name product. Just make sure you have an elevator apartment, it does weigh about 70 lbs and lugging it up four flights of stairs is a bit of a pain but totally worth it. Overall satisfied!

Lasted 18 months
I was happy with it's cooling capacity. It kept our bedroom cool. We bought the unit 2 years ago and kept it in the box during winter and plugged it up in the spring. 18 months later it stopped working. Thankfully we paid $65 for the 3 year warranty. The repairman told us it would have cost around $300 to repair. The computer chip went out. He said it was common for this product.

This weekend had its tryout. So far, I'm pleased. I rent & had to replace the landlord's 1982 Amana which ate up electric & didn't cool. I've been looking at A/Cs since the fall & kept coming back to this. I ran it 3 days straight & love the sleep feature. I didn't have to turn the TV up and it didn't keep kicking on & off. I keep the remote on the top - I lose everything! Sears installed it for an additional fee but that was okay..This way I know it was done by professionals. I did have to sign a waiver since they drill into the vinyl window (not my house). Since it's on the 1st floor, it would be easy for someone to pull out & walk away with it so it's in securely. They did it in no time, took all the boxes, etc. out, sealed it. They were nice, professional & took the time to explain it to me. I'm still working on the 8 way directional - not what I thought but it cooled my open floor plan fast, I know my electric bill won't be eaten up, Planning on a cool summer!!
