2ND FLOOR CONDO 800SQ June 18, 2008
I BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT LAST MONTH. I RUN IT ON HIGH ALMOST ALL THE TIME. I HAVE YET TO HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. MY PLACE STAYS AT A RELAXING 73, ON A 95+ DAY! I PUT THE UNIT IN MYSELF, NO PROBLEM. VERY EASY! DIRECTIONS WERE NOT SO HELPFUL, BUT ARE THEY EVER? MY CONDO IS VERY OLD AND REMINDS ME OF THE 'MONEY PIT'. (PLACE IS NOT SOUND AND AIR REALLY GETS THROUGH FROM OUTSIDE AND THE MAN UNDER ME DOES NOT BELIEVE IN TURNING IS AC UNIT ON!) THE OLD UNIT WAS VERY OLD (10+YEARS). IT WERE VERY LOUD AND LOOKED LIKE THE 1ST MODEL EVER MADE WITH TURN KNOBS. THE NEW UNIT LOOKS GREAT! REMOTE IS VERY CONVENIENT AND WORKS FROM A GOOD DISTANCE TO UNIT. IT REALLY MAKES THE PLACE LOOK MODERN. IM SELLING MY PLACE AND EVEN MY AGENT WAS IMPRESSED BY THE LOOK AND HOW QUITE THE UNIT WAS. I HAVE IT IN MY LIVING ROOM I ONLY HAVE TO TURN MY TV UP MAYBE 2 NOTCHES IF UNIT IS ON FULL BLAST. ITS NO LOUDER THEN A 13K AC UNIT COULD BE. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ITS NOT CENTRAL AIR ITS A 100LB UNIT PUSHING MASS AMOUNTS OF COLD AIR OUT! I SHOPPED AROUND A LOT, FOR THE PRICE, YOU WONT FIND BETTER!

Junk, junk, junk July 01, 2008
I purchased this unit in July 2006, it probably has 6 months worth of use on it considering our short cooling season. The motor went out (that's just 2 wks short of 2 yrs.) It will now cost me 335.00 to replace the motor. The air conditioner that was in use prior was 30 yrs. old. The unit is in an apt. building. Junk, junk junk

I finally have a wall unit that works!! July 07, 2010

I'm not sure if the other reviews are accurate on this one, as I've had no problem with my wall unit or the noise level of the unit. I actually had to do some research to find out that yes there is a difference between a wall unit & a window unit. I've purchased several window units with slide-out chassis in the past & mounted it in the wall space provided, but these are not the right unit as I have one wall that blocks the side of the unit & will not let ventilation flow happen. Because of this, the unit overheats & turns the unit down because it can't work properly. The thru-the-wall unit with a sleeve is the only one that will work for my situation. The cooling of this unit is great & I also put on a few fans to circulate the air since the unit is mounted in my living room & I need to try to get some of the air to the back part of my condo.
Also, the sales/service people at Sears have been great. Have not had one problem yet. They are very helpful & actually show up for installation/service appointments when scheduled. Have had problems with others in the past, but not Sears. Would definitely purchase more appliances from Sears!

This item is listed as a wall unit, sleeve mounted air conditioner but the dimensions shown on the website are for the air conditioner itself, not the sleeve that it slides into! These dimensions are completely useless when you're looking for an air conditioner that will fit the wall opening!!
The air conditioner might be OK but the information is dead wrong! I now have to return this air conditioner and hope that I can replace it with one that fits!

I enjoy having it through the wall instead of in a window, as we did previously. The remote is handy and works well. We have had no problems at all, although in the energy mode the compressor kicks on and off frequently, which is probably hard on it. When it does kick on, you can hear it clearly. It cools well and overall we have been very happy with it.

Couldn't live without my Kenmore window unit! May 30, 2009

I was born overheated, and reaching age 57 hasn't helped matters. But my Kenmore turns this bedroom into a heavenly little igloo. As I work nights, the noise others have commented on blocks out street noise and helps me sleep in the daytime. My "beige baby" has run almost nonstop going on 4 years without a hitch, only tuned off or on fan during the winter. It's the only thing that makes Louisiana livable, believe me. THANK YOU, KENMORE AND SEARS!
