Kenmore Elite  70-pint Dehumidifier with Built-In Pump and Remote Monitoring  ENERGY STAR®

It's been years since I was last compelled to right a review, but this product can't keep me silent. Thank goodness I purchased it with a 5 year extended warranty! On my 4th one. Pump stopped working on two of them, another started making such a racket in the basement that we could hear it on the second floor, and the latest will not drain through any of the three methods, just dumps water onto the floor. Been on the phone twice with Sears service this time around, and twice they have disconnected the call. Not the Sears, and Sears products of old. The Kenmore Dehumidifier this one replaced was over twenty years old.

The unit works well, but came with defective parts which are still not shipped to me.

I keep it in the basement, so I love the remote and the built-in Pump.

The pump lasted 13 months which is one month past the warranty time. Didn't use it continuously either. You are better off buying a cheaper dehumidifier without a pump and buying an external pump. Most of them are good for over 5 years.

Nice unit, but hose connector broke in 2 weeks. Plastic junk. Also, if you don't push it and then pull it, get ready to have a leak. When the hose is not installed properly (and again, you have to push and then pull) the unit fills up and spits water!!!!

GREAT dehumidifier. You can use bucket-hose-gravity. You dont have to punch hole in back which makes it permanent. You change or move easily. Remote helps you see if full in another position in house. I have bought 2 for myself and 1 for friend. Worth the price.

I am on my second one of these Kenmore Elite Dehumidifiers. I returned the first one twice to be repaired, it leaked on the floor. After the second repair, it did the same thing, leaked all over the floor. The pump works and it wasn't overflowing, it just wasn't makeing it to the tank. The store manager was very nice and replaced the unit with a new one, it worked fine for a few months, now it is leaking on the floor just like the last one. I will be returning this unit also. And I will be requesting a full refund! Wish me luck!

I have bought 3 of these models, 2 a year ago and 1 earlier this year, 2012, for workshops, garages and storage unit. They have all worked flawlessly. It is important to keep filter clean, install discharge hose properly and test with full bucket, realize the pump activates when bucket is full and does not empty 100%, this is in the manual. I am a believer in dehumidifiers and have come to learn industry wide they are an unreliable long-term home appliance, so I have purchased and renewed Sear's best in-home maintenance plan. I have other units dating back to 2004, one eventually was replaced this year by Sears ($250 value) because it became unfixable and the 2nd 2004 unit was just recalled and I was given $150 credit toward a new one. I have stuck with Sears dehumidifiers with maintenance plans and I believe it has been worthwhile.

The pump stopped working after 4 days. Now I drain it using the gravity hose.  Good unit otherwise, but don't pay the extra $100 for the pump. I think that the hose is too small of a diameter.  Can get clogged easily. The gravity hose is a garden hose, perfect size!
