LG & French-door fridges are **** June 29, 2010

I'll never buy another LG product (nor Kenmore, since LG makes 'em & puts a Kenmore nameplate on - ask your appliance repairman...) We have an earlier 22.4 cu.ft. model (LFD22860SW) purchased in Dec. 2006 & we've had nothing but trouble with it... most local repairmen can't even get the parts (that's another scam LG has going) and it takes 2 weeks or longer when they do have access to 'em... least of our problems, like earlier reviewers before they took this model off the market, has been the constant loss of ice cubes down the back & into the bottom of the freezer EVERY TIME YOU OPEN THE FREEZER DOOR! And intermittent cube-making... And the control board components dying... and the loss of about $400-$500 worth of food, THREE TIMES in three years! I hope the dang thing totally dies so I can convince my sweet wife we need an Amana or GE or something! NO MORE LG... "Life Is Good" as long as you don't buy an LG!

This refrigerator is a big disappointment. April 25, 2009

This is a beautiful refrigerator.  It really looks nice in my kitchen.  Too bad it doesn't work as well as it looks.  The ice dispenser works whenever it feels like it , which is not too often.  The door squeaks.  We keep lubricating it, but it still squeaks.  The door handle keeps coming loose.  Other than that, it works great.  It is very deep inside, so there's a tendency to lose things in the back of the refrigerator.  This is my first bottom freezer.  I really like it.  I can see everything at a glance.  I like the sliding shelf in the freezer.  I bought this refrigerator because it's energy star rated.  I just found out that it's not as efficient as LG claims it is.  Consumer Reports tested the energy star ratings of refrigerators and found LG to be lacking in its statistics.  LG is supposed to be offering energy rebates to consumers.  I applied for one right away,and still haven't heard from them.  That was 4 months ago.  Until LG can get their act together, I suggest consumers choose another brand.

Love the fridge/hate the freezer February 26, 2009

We are changing our appliances to stainless. Had the side by side for 20 years and loved it, but needed something wider for party trays and pizza boxes. Everyone I spoke to loves their bottom freezer. We chose this model. Love the fridge lots of space! Hate the freezer. Has a slide out tray that does not slide out all the way, and is small. Under the slid out tray there is a big space with a divider. It is very deep, so you have to bend down and dig for what you want. We returned it and are now waiting for the four door. If you don't care about the freezer part, it has a great fridge.

JUST BOUGHT... February 26, 2009

I JUST BOUGHT THIS FRIDGE FOR MY HUSBAND.. :) HE JUST LOVES IT.. HAVENT HAD ANY PROBLEMS AND WEVE HAD IF FOR ALMOST 2 WEEKS.. NO PROBLEMS WITH THE ICE MAKER OR ANYTHING.. HOPEFULY IT WILL STAY THAT WAY.. IM NOT TOO HAPPY WITH THE REVIEWS THOUGH AND TOLD MY HUSBAND ABOUT THEM BUT HE INSISTED HE WANTED THAT ONE.. HE SIMPLY SAID.. SOME JUST COME FAULTY HONEY.. NOT ALL OF THEM.. LETS JUST HOPE SO! :) WE LOVE THE SPACE IN IT.. LOOKS VERY SHARP!! (BOUGHT IT IN BLACK)
