Do Not Buy This Refrigerator. Does not refrigerate or Freeze August 17, 2011

Unless you want to pay for over $1,000 for an attractive 19 cubic foot cabinet for room temperature storage, don't buy this.

This refrigerator has been nothing but trouble.  When it was delivered, we were told that the refrigerator would take a day to get cold. It never did.  It took almost 2 weeks to get a repairperson to our house.  The refrigerator had no refrigerant and the technician did not have any with him.  A few days later the refrigerant was put in and the technician told us that there had not been any refrigerant in the system. Less than a month later the refrigerator is broken again.  It won't get cold.  It will take another week before another technician comes out.

I can't get an exchange I was told that it needs to break  down 3 times before I can get an exchange.  By the time you havet 3 separate service calls you may be outside of the 90 day exchange period.  It can take up to 2 weeks for a repairman to come out. That is 3x you have to throw out a refrigerator/freezer full of food.

love the gladiator refrigerator and will be getting the freezer August 26, 2010

We absolutely love our refridgerator so far.  It looks great in the garage with the other gladiator components.  Our delivery and set up was awesome as well.

I've owned this refrigerator for almost a year now and I really love it! I've said in other reviews, that I like to have a product for a time before I review it.

I do not have anything negative yet to say about this unit other than it needs a little bigger freezer section, but it also depends on what you want it for.

I'm sure this unit will work for most folks. I myself could use a little more freezer room without taking away from the refrigerator portion, but obviously it's not a deal breaker!

I would like to see one with the LED lights since this model is an energy star and I think the LED's use less energy......am I right on this anyone?

There was no installation on my part other than filling it up with drinks and food after the delivery men sit it up and after it reached temperature.........(which it did very quickly)!

I just had it's first yearly service performed and while I was not there to talk to the service tech, my wife said the tech wanted me to set the temperature above the initial setting.

I don't know if I agree with this as my unit really puts out on the initial settings even with our 100 degree temps we have been having!

I have installed two separate temperature meters in the refrigerator portion and the freezer portion and they have consistently had readings of -10 degrees in the freezer and 35 degrees in the refrigerator portion.

I feel that this is more than adequate on the low initial setting, unless someone knows why the tech would like me to keep turning it up more?

Bottom line.......this has been a great purchase, and I feel it will keep performing well for me.

 If it doesn't............ I'll let you know!

The Gladiator Refrigerator makes a statement in your garage. June 09, 2010

Recently, we purchased this refrigerator  to keep in the garage. We were very pleased to find a refrigerator that is able to withstand the contrast extremes of heat and cold. We were told that the new refrigerators that we use in our kitchens are no longer able to withstand the extremes in temperature. Keeping an extra refrigerator in the garage to keep our drinks cold and store extra produce made sense for us, and it is good looking too.
