There's No More Ice July 04, 2007
Fridge fits well in my kitchen, however, there are some knocking sounds, 'feet' are easily dislodged if accidently kicked and freezer on bottom requires some adjustment. Inside, shelves not too easy to clean, tall containers don't fit well and there's room for only one ice tray. Unfortunately my family can go through tons of ice in a day.

Awful LOUD fridge, do not buy October 14, 2008
We've had this fridge for about 3 months. It replaced a Whirlpool that died unexpectedly after only 1 year. The Amana is a terribly noisy fridge that I would not recommend to anyone. You hear all sorts of popping noises when the compressor starts up. When the compressor is running, it is incredibly noisy and we can hear it in all the rooms that are next to the kitchen. It's awful. When you shut the doors, the fridge makes this sucking/gugrling noise from the drain tube. And when the compressor finally shuts down it makes loud popping noises for 20 minutes afterwards. I hate it. I tried making some adjustments, like putting a piece of carpet under the fridge to absorb some of the noise, but it only helps a little. I also checked the fans to see if they were causing the noise, but no, the sound is coming from inside the compressor. The noises are so loud you can hear them over the TV in the living room next to the kitchen. I also called the customer service line about the noises but they offered no help at all. There are some good things about the fridge: Fridge on top is much more convenient than freezer on top. Even though space is only 18.5 cu ft, we find that the fridge is laid out well so you can make good use of the space Bottom line: if you need a fridge for a garage or some other place where you won't be around to hear it, this is a fine choice. Otherwise, DO NOT BUY IT. YOU WILL REGRET IT LIKE WE DO.

Bought this in Bisque. The inside shelving drawers are small in comparison to size of fridge. Shelves on door too many shipped, if all were installed there is no way to fill them unless you have only SMALL containers. Icemaker is very noisy, and lacks a high sided container to hold ice thus you get over spill. Outside is textured on 3 sides. and very shiny. looks plastic but is metal (thank goodness). The next size up did not come in bisque only white,black and old fashioned stainless.
Wheels don't seem to lock so unit slides forward since door seals early on are tight.

We love the bottom freezer, I don't think I could go back to the top freezer. We have had this fridge for about 10 yrs or so and only had the repairman out once and replaced something in the freezer compartment, but no other problems...Lots of room, and the door holds alot..

Compressor died after only 4 years of service... so loud that we had to put it in the garage... horrible product. Buy something other than this product! Will cost more to fix compressor than the frig itself!

8 years old. We've had repairmen out twice - second informed us this model has always had compressor problems. Freezer constantly frosting over the vents since we first purchased it - within hours of having been defrosted. Currently shopping for new fridge. Love bottom freezer, will do that again.
