After 2-1/2 months, I couldn't be happier with this refrigerator. It keeps food reliably in the 38-40 degree recommended range while using significantly less than its Energy Star rating of 388 kWh per year, verified by the Kill-a-Watt meter it's been plugged into. The wire and removable-glass shelves make it easy to clean. The only thing I miss from my old refrigerator is an extra partial freezer shelf. Whirlpool tops Consumer Reports reliability ratings for top-freezers, and JD Power ranked the brand highest among the non-elite models. My local Sears dealer also recommended the Whirlpool over other brands I considered based on feedback from previous customers. I'm glad I bought it when I did because the price is $230 higher now.

My wife and I had a GE Profile side by side that was a 21 cubic feet in size but this Whirlpool even at 18.9 actually has more usable space because it lacks the partiion between the freezer and cooler portion of the frig. Things just plain fit better because of the more open space. The GE profile was a higher quailty unit by far the shelfs were stronger . This Whripools bottom crisper drawers sag at the middle in between where the drawers slide next to each otther enough so that the crisper drawers actually drag on the bottom of the inside of the refrigerator. I looked at the Kenmores and they do the same thing along with a couple other brands. This to me is a very cheap thing to look at while the rest of the refrig looks to be of a high quailty. I just to not under stand why the brace thta supports both crisper drawers is so weak that it will not hold the drawers up so when we look at it the drawers sit unever giving the frig a chaap look to it. Very disappointed with thie design error or was it. It not only looks cheap but is cheap in this area. Also our GE profile had headed door seals to prevent frost buildup and this does not have this feature. Had I to do it over I would concider looking at another brand. It looks like the drawers are loaded to heavy but thats not the case unless you empty them then the drawers sit normal. Other then the cheap drawer support so far its ok. I have to give it a 3 star for the price you would think they could at least beef up the shelfs and the drawers. The GR profile is built much better. If you do not mind sagging crisper drawers then purchase it but bewear they is no fix for the sagging drawls. Cheers
