So far, so good
This freezer replaces a 15 cu ft Kenmore we had for about 30 years. It still worked, but the seals were going bad and there was some rust here and there.
We've had this freezer for nearly a month. It's in the garage, so noise is not a factor, but even so, it's not that loud. It does seem to run frequently, even on cools days and nights. With a 4 setting, it keeps food hard as a rock.
Somehow, my wife finds it easier to find stuff and it seems bigger even though it's nominally smaller than the old freezer.
The only misgiving we have is that the heat dispersion coils are in the sides and top, so we can no longer pile stuff on top of the new item as we did with the old one. We're contemplating a rack to go on top to provide the required 3 inch clearance, and yet be able to store the pet carrier and picnic cooler.

Digital Control Freezer
This freezer was purchased in January 2012. We only had it a month or so and the freezer shut down and we lost all the food we had in it. Sears repairman came out and said the freezer had a bad control and would order a new one. He said there had been problems with the digital controls. It has worked great until today, August 2012, and it has gone out again. I have lost another freezer of food. We did purchase extended warranty but they only cover the loss of food once a year. They will not be here to check it out for a week and I'm not interested in another control. I'm afraid to trust this freezer with more food. Don't buy this freezer, it's terrible. I think digital anything is junk!

Do not buy this freezer
We had this freezer for less than 30 days and it already quit working. They did give us a new freezer, but we don't think we can trust it. After reading all the other negative reviews, we think we should try to get our money refunded. Why doesn't Sears recall this freezer? We lost a freezer full of meat.

Worked for a whole four months
This freezer was delivered to my home in early January. By late April, it was no longer cooling properly. Thankfully, I had a thermometer in the freezer because the alarm never went off. I had a repair tech out and was told it had "several" issues including the exchanger, the evaporator, and the alarm system. He suggested that I request a whole new unit. I would think that Sears would just replace the unit, especially due to the fact it was less than four months old and well within the one year warranty. Was I wrong! It needs to be deemed unrepairable first, so now they spend MORE money sending ANOTHER tech out when they could have just delivered a new one. Its really unfortunate that things are made so cheap and undependable these days, and even more unfortunate when a large company will not stand behind their product and do what SHOULD be done to satisfy a previously loyal customer (I have bought numerous appliances from Sears). I will be considering other options in the future.

We have had this only two weeks so far but it is absolutely the best purchase we have made for a while. It is so quiet and roomy! And the price we got with all the discounts was amazing. Good Freezer
Read the reviews and was a little concerned about the noise level however I have it in my garage and I don't find it noisy at all. Yes I can hear the motor sometimes when I am out in the garage but not any louder then the old freezer other times there is no noise at all. Love the light, frost free and space of the freezer. I have had no problems with the temp either. Keeps things good and cold.
