I have had my little 5.0 cu. ft. freezer about a week now. It is perfect. My previous freezer also was a Kenmore and had to be defrosted. This one is small enough that I can let it defrost, tip it over and let the water run out into my garage, then wipe it out. When I defrosted my previous freezer, which was 40+ years old, I waited until freezing weather. I put my food into the trunk of my car, pulled the car out of the garage or went to work while the freezer defrosted. Incidentally, the 40+ year old freezer still works; it just uses a lot of energy. I use it for storage. I just can't part with it.

We purchased this freezer after shopping around, and got a really great deal on it. However, we brought it home and it did not work. The repair man came, it was not fixable, so we exchanged it for another one. After a few days, that one did not work as well. Sears has been very helpful, however I would not recommend this model to anyone as we received two defective freezers in a row. We are now trying a different model and we will see how it goes.

Great freezer June 10, 2009

I have owned this little freezer for about six weeks now, and I am so glad I purchased it. I live in a small apartment and the freezers on top of the frig are very small and do not allow much room for shopping the sales, so this little freezer is perfect. It runs very quietly which I am grateful for as I had to put it in my bedroom. It was a terrific purchase.

This little freezer is a real pleasure to have. It fits in a nook of my kitchen pantry, so I don't have to run down to the basement for freezer access anymore. I wouldn't recommend this for a large family, but for a household of two people, it's just perfect. Of course it freezes food just as it should, but it is also incredibly quiet. When I first got it, I kept checking to see if it was really running because it didn't make a sound. Best little item I ever bought.

This freezer is definitely worth its price. It holds a lot of food with it's fixed shelf spacing so now buying and freezing specials from the supermarket does not create a problem as it did with my apartment freezer. It will pay for itself in several months. With it's size and euro design, it blends in very well with any decor. Like others have said, it really is quiet.
