Our Gladiator freezerator is just what we were looking for May 19, 2010
We had to replace a standing freezer that was lost in a recent flood. I love the fact this appliance gives us an extra refrigerator space as well. We just have to be careful about what we place on the bottom of the 'fridge compartment because is can get cold enough to start to freeze. Other than that, I love the spacious freezer interior and the sliding drawers and adjustable shelves. Plus we bought it at the 'scratch and dent' outlet and saved a bundle there too. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

first one was broken; second one is a little cold on top November 12, 2009
We received the first one after one missed appointment (due to calling my wife's cell phone and not calling the home phone). It was setup and when we checked it that night it was warm inside. We also noticed that the door would not shut by itself - it should be noted that according the manual you cannot level the freezer when it is on wheels - you are instructed to use a shim.
The repair guy came and found that the freezer had not coolant and while filling it decided that it just wasn't running 'right' for a new product. He called the office and had them a new freezer.
The second freezer was installed no problems and it is cold. My thermometer says 0(F) in the main compartment which is is perfect, the top compartment is 32(F) which should be closer to 34(F) on the warmest setting. The garage is 40-50(F) this time of year. I have not tested it full of food yet - if the temperature doesn't correct it will be another call to the repair shop.

Freezes fridge area, ices up,ice balls freezer areaWe were looking for this exact layout, but the salesman at our local sears said it wasn't made. I ws poking around and when I found it, retrieved the Manager and got a different sales guy. It worked ok for the first year or so, then started freezing everything in the Fridge section. I called support, after FIVE visits, they got it working after replacing just about everything in the back.
NOW it is dripping a lot of water into the freezer section and created a huge sold ice mass in the bottom of the lower unit. This destroyed about $200 worth of meats. When I called tech support they want $150 to come and look at it. Sheesh! Not even 8 years old and the thing is whacked. I had to put a drip tray that takes up most of the upper shelf and have to empty it every 3-4 days so it doesn't ice all our food again.
It's a good think it's on wheels, that way I can push it to the curb easier!
