    No problems December 21, 2008

After reading the reviews here, I had serious doubts about buying this refrigerator. There were a few minor issues but have been really happy with it for the past 6 months. The only issue we have a really tight kitchen and the door can't open past 90 degrees and the produce drawers can't come all the way out. Make sure you don't plan on using this in a corner. I guess our other unit was designed differently so we didn't have an issue opening the doors of that one. Mechanically, the unit runs like a top so take these reviews with a grain of salt. I guess you always have a few 'bad' units in the bunch.

Do not buy. April 15, 2010

I do not recommend buying this refrigerator. The water filter leaks and is apparently due to a poor design.

Repairmen have been to the house.  One solution was to replace the water filter base. This repair did not last 24 hours before leaking.  Sears sent a senior technician to evaluate the problem.  According to the senior technician, the currently specified water filter is a new model but is a poor design.  His solution was to replace it with an older model that worked fine before it was phased out.  He just happened to have a spare in the truck.  Unfortunately, the older model water filters are no longer available.  He wished me good luck as he drove off!  Not much of a solution there.

Sears is now recommending to permanently cap off the water filter system!  This is not a solution. This is a $2600-$2800 refrigerator. I am astonished Sears would even suggest it.  Amazing.

Great style at a somewhat reasonable price November 14, 2011
    By CandideSixpence of Atlanta, GA
    Pros:
    Cool style
    Cons:
stainless needs to be cleaned often

We've owner this fridge for three years and except for a problem w/ the ice maker when we first got it (sears came and fixed right that right away)  it's been fully operational. I love it's retro design  and functional interior. Also, it's silver on 3 sides (not cheap looking black on two) and you can apply magnets to the sides. I like that. I wish they made more like this one.

Great Look, Many Problems March 11, 2010
By susross of Port Saint Lucie, FL

I too bought the Kenmore Pro Series for my new kitchen remodel.  So far I'm pretty pleased with everything but the refrigerator.  I'm now waiting for my 3rd unit to be delivered.  We bought the Kenmore Pro 23.1 cu ft counter depth stainless steel and certainly love the look, other than that not yet sure.  The first two units came damaged, both having scratches on them.  Since I'm getting a 3rd new unit I'm hoping I won't run into the problems everyone has written about.  This unit is made very cheaply for the money.  The drawers feel like they will fall apart within a short amount of time.  The doors fly open without a feeling of control about them.  At night when the house is settled we can hear the ice maker making all kinds of noises.  At times its a load banging noise and no one is near it.  Now lets talk about the service people whom we must deal with concerning these problems, the worst at times.  The repairmen have been fine for the most part but calling Sear's people I find them difficult to deal with.  They ask such foolish questions that makes you go crazy before you know it.  Instead of reading all the calls you have already made and should be in the system they keep asking the same things over and over.  I feel it is a stall not to do their job and hope you will give up and go away.  They pass you from one person to another and again you must answer all the stupid questions again and again.  Once that is done you do find that Sear's is willing to replace these units while still under their warrenty.  I did not buy the additional warrenties because I don't like the idea that you pay for 3 years but get only 2.  Your first year your automatically under manufacturers warrenty, why would you pay for another?  At the end of the year I will purchase additional warrenties on these products because of all the reviews people are saying about Sears Kenmore Products.

This was a HORRIBLE purchase!!! Zero Rating... November 02, 2009
    By NeverKenmorePro of Rochester, NY

Back in the winter of 2006 we purchased the Kenmore Pro refridgerator. We loved the look of the product and based on the description/specs we decided to make the purchase.

    BIG MISTAKE...

The fuse box on the icemaker blew this summer (2009) and the icemaker has been malfunctioning ever since then. Despite our repeated calls to the service people [who claim to have fixed the problem each time], the sensor in the icemaker is no longer functional. This means we have ice overflowing without end in the freezer compartment. The only way to stop this from happening is to manually go in and turn off the ice making machine. Had this been a "lower end" appliance, I would be okay with having to operate the ice maker manually. However, I paid a lot of money for this thing to work as promised and so I am deeply disappointed with the outcome of this experience. Afterall, we are living in the 21st century. I paid for an automatic icemaker and I should have one.

Lucky for us, we got the extended warranty at the time of purchase. Because of this warranty, the service people are able to make their attempts (without charges to me) at fixing this thing BUT they remain clueless and I still have this lemon on my hands.

To make matters more disappointing, the fan on the air filter feature is VERY LOUD. So much for quiet technology. According to the servise guy (Chris), I just need to turn off the air filter and the noise will go away. He claimed that most customers do not use the air filter anyway. This advise goes against the reason we purchased this appliance. If the claim is that the air filter should work, then I should not have to turn it off because it is too noisy. The service guy was stunned by how loud the motor was during his visit.

This was a HORRIBLE purchase and I wish I could erase this entire experience. I am tire of the back and forth calls with the Sears service and customer service team. This is my first and only appliance purchase with Sears. I have learned a very hard lesson.

Save yourself the heartache - do not purchase anything from this line.
