I have had all Kenmore products in my home since my first home, so the purchase of a full Kenmore PRO kitchen was obvious when we remodeled. I bought this unit in December 2006, and overall have been happy with it. The lighting in this refrigerator is great, even in the freezer. I also like the pull out baskets in the freezer, makes it harder to lose things. The doors of the fridge have lots of room for condiments and big and tall bottles, and I appreciate the divided fruit end vegetable drawers with separate humidity controls. I would skip the apparatus in the lower part of the fridge door that is supposed to hold soda cans, it's an inefficient use of space. I did not experience the issues with uneven doors that others have mentioned, nor have I had any issues with the thermostat. Granted, I don't use the ice maker at all. The only issue I've had is that the seal on the freezer door started icing up about a month ago.

Kenmore Pro Line side-by-side refrigerator.
Like the other reviewers - I want to Love it, but . . .
1. This is a BEAUTIFUL refrigerator, guys will love this thing, it looks like it is built like a tank but that is deceiving.
2. This is a real review, I have owned this thing for more than 2 years, and I thank the Lord that I got the extended warranty. The refrigerator has been replaced 4 times now and it is looking like # 5 is about to happen.
3. As another reviewer mentioned, if I had known Frigidaire made it, I would not have purchased it. I have owned one other product by Frigidaire (an air conditioner) and it never worked right, and when they sent their technicians out, they took the air conditioner and I never heard from them again.
4. The problems;
a. miss aligned doors (no way to adjust, really stupid),
b. Freezer door would not close all the way,
c. Refrigerator shelf doors break off, replaced 4 of them now (when examined it is obvious this will happen - acrylic plastic - getting cold - becomes brittle, little tabs actually hold them on),
d. Water dispenser lever broke off twice (again deceiving, looks like metal but is really plastic, must call technician to examine and then they have to order it),
e. control board failed and water dispenser just stayed on, lucky I was home when this happened (it's electronic instead of a manual valve)
f. Crisper drawer molding is stuck on with dbl stick tape and just popped off because it was rubbing on the bottom of refrigerator . . . this will probably be a refrigerator replacement because you cannot adjust the shelf.
g. Ice crusher is stuck on crushed only . . . another control board?
h. Ice production - there is none. If you have more than two people in your home, and want ice - you will have to buy it. Ice production is erratic at best, sometimes it actually produces a reasonable amount of ice, but then it just decides not to produce. If you examine the icemaker it's pretty easy to see why, they cut the ice cube tray in half and put it at the very back of the freezer, which gives a little more room but really cuts ice production in half. In addition to Frigidaire's poor design, add sub standard parts and equipment and your ice production is cut to a forth of what it should be.
5. Conclusion: If Kenmore would take the outer shell of this refrigerator and put a Whirlpool or other reputable manufacturers guts in it - this could be an awesome refrigerator. As it is, I cannot recommend this refrigerator to anyone, unless they need something that looks cute, and have money to burn.

all about designThis standard depth Kenmore PRO is beautiful. I wish I could keep it. In 6 weeks of owning it, the repairman has been out twice and it is still not fixed. The ice dispenser does not work and they do not seem to know how to fix it. We dedided it was the best thing to return it and get another brand.

PracticalI hope this review will help anyone considering buying this refrigerator, but I doubt it will as I unfortunately did not read the reviews either.
We've had our refrigerator for two years. For the last year, we have had the repair person at our home 5 times. The problem has never been fixed and we eventually just got tired of calling and have not called anymore.
Today the ice maker quit. It does not freeze foods solidly, so if you are a budget minded person who buys meats when they're on sale and plans to freeze them, do not buy this brand. The refrigerator is never cold and has never been cold. Milk goes bad in about 4-5 days and if you want a cold drink, we used to stick it in the freezer for a while to get it cold, but lately that doens't work because the freezer is now just another warm refrigerator. And of course, no ice and it's August.
It went out completely last year and ruined our food. Sears will reimburse you up to $300 for lost food, but again, if you have rib-eyes in the freezer, $300 doesn't touch the loss. Not to mention the initial cost of the refrigerator itself.
Today, I am shopping ****** website and wanted one to match our refrigerator's current size which is why I am here writing this review.
Join me at ****** won't you? They may give better service as even a letter to the CEO, the VP and the Marketing Director has not garnered us a solution.
Take heed and run away!
I read all the reviews and was a little scared of what might happen, but I've had the fridge about a month and it works fine. First, this refrigerator is huge. It fits in the same space as our old fridge, but it's much bigger inside. Love the metal sides vs. the painted sides most stainless refrigerators come with. Nice touch. It's an Electrolux fridge dressed in Kenmore Pro garb, so it matches our Electrolux Icon range nicely and also matches the Electrolux dishwasher. The dials are very cool, but not terribly functional. The one for the freezer is off by a few degrees, but every person who's seen the fridge has ooohed and aaahed over the dials, even my friends with the built-in Thermador, so I'll consider it style over substance. As for the complaints others give...noisy and misaligned doors. Check and check. Not terribly noisy, but I definitely hear the motor running as I write this review. I'm handy, so once our kitchen is finished I'm pretty sure I can get the doors right. Ironically, this appliance had the worst rating of any I bought, but so far has given the least trouble, so take all reviews with a grain of salt.
