Lots of space and very quiet. August 21, 2008
We love this refrigerator, it's basic, no frills, and it does the job and is incredibly quiet. It is also huge, we have nicknamed it "Big Bertha". I read the previous review after we purchased ours and was a little nervous, but I am happy to say we have not had any difficulty with ours icing over at all.

The best feature of this refrigerator is size. Immediately we noticed a knocking sound when the unit starts running, then a gurgling sound. The thermostat has to be set at "three o-clock" to maintain safe temperature in the refrigerator section. The very nice service man indicated this is freon sounds and no problem. Then I happened upon a Frigidare (same refrigerator with different name plate) and it made same sounds and had same limited cooling. Sears can do better than this!!! If cost of exchange is not prohibitive will exchange it for another refrigerator.

A refrigerator is supposed to cool. Mine was delivered March 13. I was told that the temperature of 37 degrees would be reached after 24 hrs. with the control set on normal. I waited and the temp. was 45 degrees, so millimeter by millimeter I moved the control to colder an would wait several hours after each millimeter to see if it changed. The best it does is between 42 and 47 degrees and the motor does come on now and then. I purchased two thermometers, I don't open the door much and nothing changes no matter where the control is set. It is rare that it gets to 42 degrees. The freezer works ok.

This is an extra large refridgerator. Lots of space. However, any tall bottles will either go on the door or the bottom shelf, not the top shelf like I was used to.
