  I purchased this little fridge to keep refreshments cool in the garage . It was a surprise so I had to carry it myself. It is light weight and small enough to fit in the backeat of my car. It only took an hour to cool and ONLY uses approximately $ 36 a year to run. Great Purchase...

I love to sit on my screened porch almost year round.  I bought this Kenmore compact fridge to keep on the porch.  I have plenty of drinks and snacks handy without having to go in and out the porch door.  It saves alot on air conditioning too.  Even in the outside heat, everything stays cold.  Its nice when I have company, relaxing on the porch not to have to go thru the house to get drinks for everyone.  It holds enough to take care of friends thru the whole evening.  I really like my porch fridge.

This is a great deal.  I purchased the 3.9 cu compact refrigerator on-line and picked it up at my local Sears store.  It was on sale $35 less than the original price and lower than anything in it's catergory.  Once I got the unit home, I opened the carton only to discover the unit was damaged.  The carton had very little packing, and I could see how the unit got damaged even if it was slightly dropped.  The outside carton is bulky and slick.  Anyway, my luck, I called the store and they had no more left to exchange.  I was told more were coming within a few days.  This did not happen.  Located another store 30 miles further away that had a few.  I called them and they placed one on hold.

  Returned the damaged unit to the original store, and went to the next store to purchase another unit.  I asked them to check the contents before loading- and yes, it was damaged.  So they got another one from the ware house- it also was damaged.  They finally found one that appeared OK.  Once home, I removed the carton completely and placed the unit on a level floor and it rocked like a rocking horse.  I assumed it required leveling- which I did with the front leveling feet. However,  the compressor mount had a severe crease in the middle (damage) that we did not notice at the store.  The bent plate would not allow the unit to level.  I had to lay the unit on it's side and try to flatten the support.  Lots of untrimmed metal underneath and I cut my hand as if I had used a razor blade.  Blood everywhere.  Anyway, I finally got the cut taken care of and the support corrected (reshapened).  I waited a day to plug the unit in, and it has been working great ever since. 

Sears was very helpful, and they do stand by their products.  However, why couldn't they convince the manufacturer to use a better packaging system?  Anyway, check the carton before taking it home.  Also, the unit is very rough, as if they just didn't care about the quality during assembly.  Example, scratches and small dents on the unit.  Shelf holder not installed correctly, insulation on back was in poor shape- damaged and shoddy.  I guess you get what you pay for.  I just hope it will last a few years.  The unit has a lot of room and a large freezer space for a compact.  The cord was ample length and it appears to run fairly silent.  The unit leveled well, is very light and will hold lots of groceries.

Perfect dorm fridge March 09, 2010

I bought this refrigerator for my dorm room and I absolutely love it. It doesn't run very much, it's fairly quiet and it keeps things very cold. I would highly recommend it.
