The Cosco Scenera Convertible Baby Car Seat is a smart buy! September 16, 2011

We bought this car seat for my youngest, two and a half years ago when he outgrew his removable infant car seat. Although we didn't use it for him as a newborn, it can be used for a small newborn on up to a toddler. It has several slots to adjust both the shoulder straps and the latch at the crotch. Installation is easy and quick with the LATCH system belts.

The Scenera Car Seat is comfortable and easy to clean. The padding is easily removable and washable, which, with kids is an absolute necessity! I also love that the padding on the car seat is comfortable for the price you pay. My friend paid more for her car seat and its padding is less comfortable than our Scenera Car Seat.  We've taken several road trips and my son has never complained about being uncomfortable. This is a really great buy! It's inexpensive and well worth more than you pay for it!

I was impressed with 3 crotch buckle positions! July 11, 2010

I just got this carseat today for my 11 month old daughter who is 19 lbs and 29 1/2 inches tall, and though I haven't used it yet on a car ride as of yet I am impressed.

I was surprised to see 3 crotch buckle positions, so that's impressive. My cosco touriva that I already own only has one crotch position. Then when I got it out of the package I was happy that the black material on the bottom of the seat was soft and velvet like so if I put my daughter in it with shorts or just a diaper cover, it will be soft on her thighs and legs.

Also when I went to read the manual, I found that it had a place to hang the latch straps if you don't use latch, and it has 2 latch straps by the way which probably provides a better secure fit than with only one latch strap- as is with my cosco touriva that I already own for my 2 year old.

And  since I don't use latch it was convinient not to have to figure a way to secure them so they aren't a  hazard in a crash. Also, I had to change the shoulder position harness level to the second from the bottom for my daughter and it was easy as with my cosco touriva I already own. 

I installed it in the middle back seat in the rear facing position and put 2 rolled blankets under the carseat at the base so I could recline it to the appropriate decline, used my full weight to buckle the seat belt with locking clip 1 inch away from the seat belt buckle in my car--and it was installed. As far as manuevability with this carseat install, it is modest. It doesn't tip or sway badly as with my graco snugride w/ base. And so I am happy with this carseat. I'm not using the cup holder because I don't have the space to fit all three of my daughters back in my backseat, and I expected not to be able to use it for that reason.

 I'm usually all in to comfort for my kids, and so sure I'd love to have a super awesome head cushions on both sides of my child's head as they have with the radian 80 carseat for safety/comfort in a side impact crash and I'd love for a body pillow and a detachable seat pad insert that can come off easy for accidents in the car, but I just can't afford it and I really mean that. If I had 115- 300 to spend on a carseat with all the bells and whistles I'd totally do it. But for now, I am totally impressed with the cosco scenera carseat that I got on sale for $39 plus tax.

I bought this car seat for my son and I love it. I used to have the Britax Boulevard ($330) but I bought a new car and it was to big so I got this as a temporary one and have kept using it ever since. It has great reviews and is under $50. I'm actually going to buy one for my other son who needs this kind next month. I feel kinda bad because it's so cheap but it really is great and so are the reviews for this one.
