Easy and Versatile.....NOT
This gate was very difficult to put together because the instructions were not very detailed, words or pictures. I put the buttons on like instructions said but then the width would change by only a couple of inches, no where near 22 - 42 inches. This was due to pieces of plastics within the track that the buttons are supposed to slide. These plastic dividers are not in the pictures on the KMart web site or the Safety 1st web site. Because of the extra plastic you can not move the gate from one opening to another of different sizes very easily. I would only recommend this gate someone if they needed it for one opening size only.

The escaping Babies!
I bought this gate thinking that it would keep my babies in their room, but 20 minutes after we installed the gate and went into the other room.... my babies followed. My 2 year old is able to open the gate, VERY easily, rendering the gate useless. So I would not recommend this gate to anyone with kids....but if you want to use it to keep your dog in a room then this would probably work for you.

Safety first lift and lock baby gate
We bought this gate to use at the grandparents house and they had a hard time figuring out how to open and adjust the size and lock in place. Not the easiest most user friendly product. Once in place it was very sturdy though, just time consuming and not a quick up.

Love it!
We bought this gate to use as a "top-of-the-stairs" gate. We chose it because it had hardware to mount the gate to the wall and our daughter would not be able to push it over and fall down the stairs. We were able to install it in about 20 minutes - it comes with a very handy template, which makes it easy to be able to mark the wall where the hardware will go. It also has a simple (for an adult) push and lift locking device, which I don't think my daughter will be able to figure out for several more years. The only thing that was a bit frustrating was that it says you have to mount it into a stud, and there was no stud in the area where we were restricted to mounting it. However, we used some of the plastic pieces that go in the wall first to reinforce it, and have had no problem whatsoever. It even holds my weight!
I would recommend this product to a friend.

Safety 1st Lift, Lock & Swing Gate was useful
When I first purchased the saftey gate it was on sale for $5.99. So I had to buy it at that price!! It didn't seem to fit the space that I originally bought it for but I did find it useful in another area in my home. I would recommend this after a price reduction. I will recommend that you know the exact measurements of the space BEFORE you buy. It's not that big when its pulled all the way out. Hope this helps.
