    I received this at my baby shower and loved it. I loved being about to see my baby, not just hear him. However, when he got older he knocked it off a stand and now it no longer works.

    My husband got this for me as a Christmas gift. I thought it was extravagant but now I can't imagine having a baby and not having a video monitor! Started to use the monitor in July 07 when the baby was born and it worked well. When he was very small and didn't move around we were able to have the camera closer and I could see if he was breathing or not which as a all new parents know... is key. Having a video monitor allows us to be able to see what those, sometimes strange, noises are coming across that monitor. We also do not have to open his door and go into his room to see if he is OK or what he is doing and potentially disturb a happily resting baby. PROS- I like that there are red lights on the top by the power button for visual sound aid. I used that when I was up and wanted to let my husband sleep. Sound is great. We have a two story home, cordless phones, cell phones, wireless internet and we do not have any interference problems which was a surprise. We even take the video monitor outside in the back yard with us and we have no interference. The second sound-only monitor that mine came with is handy for when I'm walking around the house and yard too but it doesn't look like this one has the second monitor. It's not critical though, just handy. CONS - HATE HATE HATE the scrolling dial to turn on and off the video. OH it's awful. I realize the 'design' looks better with the roll, however, it's such a pain to try to turn on and off. I can't tell you how many times I cursed that thing after only having short stints of sleep and trying to focus and turn that blasted thing on or off. A regular toggle switch would have been MUCH better. Incredibly frustrating because it's difficult to move. The volume on the left is not bad b/c it's almost always on and scrolls easily. The plug gets super hot and I am not very comfortable with that. After 11 months, the night vision has gone out. I'm not in the mood to try to negotiate a new one out of the company so I'm just going to buy a new monitor system from someone else. It's a decent enough monitor system and we have used it every day for 11 months straight we have been fairly happy. I don't think it's worth more than $70 - $90.
