- The ants are the fastest of the Hexbug Robotic creatures. That's because special high speed gear drive developed for the ant
- The ants are only one species in the Hexbug robotic family. Other creatures include crabs, larva, inchworms, spiders and scarabs. There also are Hexbug Nanos and Warriors, both of which battle. The additional bugs, carrying cases and habitats are sold separately
- The ant uses an AG13 button battery, and the first one is included. An instruction sheet includes directions for changing the battery
- Not recommended for children younger than 3 due to a possible choking hazard from small parts

fast little bug
My son got this Ant and a few other hexbugs for Christmas this year and he loves them all. He has the ant in the magenta color and the little guy runs fast, real fast ! He is the fasted of all the other bugs he got. The ant has little sensors in the front and the back in the form of thin antennaes which it uses to sense that it bumped into something and quickly changes direction. It also fell down some steps and ran upside down with no problem so it will continue to run no matter what it runs into or over. Yes it drives over smaller bugs like a monster truck over a tiny car! And the kids went wild over that. At first it got stuck in a giant shag rug we have because the fibers got caught in between the wheels as they turned but my son picked him up and then he was on his way again. It can drive over a rug as long as the fibers aren't so flimsy that they can get caught in the rotating legs (but that is the same with any little toy car). The ant doesn't really fit into the glow in the dark hexbug track too well, he is too big for it and escapes very easily. He is meant to run around free or maybe on the bigger tracks, but we don't have any of those yet. The ant runs like all other hexbugs on tiny hearing aid batteries. I'm not sure how long that will last. But those batteries are sold everywhere adn I'm sure replacing them will be easy when the time comes. This is a great toy and alot of fun to play with and chase around. Be sure not to step on them though.
I would recommend this product to a friend.
