GPS for the Trip January 24, 2011
I would go on to the long trip with the Touchscreen GPS and I can even go to Bighontom so I won't get lost but don't touch the screen while your driving. Well I may not need this kind of GPS so I would use a regular GPS for the super save trip. I would find a nice house at Bighontom this way.
So if your going on the trip with the touchscreened GPS,you can set up the location so you can find a nice hotel at Massena or Watertown.
I would get my father a GPS but we won't need it while we go to Watertown.

Waste of my time April 05, 2011
I bought this device because of a recommendation of a friend and a sales associate. The price was right as well. At first glance I was pleased with the device and used it for the drive home from the store. Then I tried to update the maps. The process kept failing and left my GPS with no maps. I made 4 or 5 attempts to install the map with the TomTom home software and each time it failed for a variety of reasons.
I took it back to the store and exchanged for another. This time I waited until I got home to take it out of the box and right away it cant find a GPS signal. Tried updating the maps (I uninstalled the home software and then downloaded it again in case that was the problem) and now its doing the same thing again. The home software also wouldnt let me connect this device with the account I had to create. It said I could only link one device at a time and then could only swap out devices every six months. What gives with that???
I'm sure thier tech support could probably help me fix the problem but I dont want a device that wont work out of the box.
I tried TomTom and even gave it a second chance. I wont waste my time with this product again.

This GPS is very easy to learn to use. We had no trouble with the desktop manager and even uploaded free fun voices from the Internet including "Beavis and Butthead" which made the GPS directions really funny!
