Frustrating at first January 10, 2008
Ok, We got this for our daughters Christmas & afterwards saw bad reviews of the DVD player only playing black & white when hooked to the Princess TV. Well ours did the same when hooked up with the coax cable going red to red, white to white & yellow to yellow. After fighting & madness & about giving up to return it I played around with it again & fixed it by connecting white to white, red to blue & yellow to green on the back of the DVD player. This may sound confusing now but if you buy this product you will understand what I mean. I hope this helps out some other frustrated parents or helps some else out in any other way possible.

Out of all the dvd players out there, this one is by far the prettiest. That is why I was so excited to buy this for my 2 1/2 year old's room. Do NOT let the pretty princess idea trick you, because this item is not worth a dime that you'll end up paying. We purchased this dvd player two days ago. It lasted two whole days, then the player wouldn't get as far as trying to turn on. It would show on the screen that it was trying to play the movie or dvd and just stop. For $30 I could have bought two cheap dvd players for about the same quality that this thing was made for. In other words, don't waste your money! I've read many reviews on this item that will prove me right.

Terrible.... ruined my 3 yr old's Christmas!!! It never worked. It would not read the DVD and made a loud noise... when we finally got the disc out of the machine it had scratched the disc so bad we had to trash that (which was also a Christmas present). We had also purchased the matching TV and tried hooking a different DVD player (one of our own that we know works properly) up to it, but the TV didn't not work with it. So now all 3 of her Christmas presents are ruined or are not working. I bought these items earlier this year in July and am going to try to return, exchange for something different or get store credit, but is has been over 90 days since purchase so we'll see what kind of customer service SEARS has. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!!!!

We got this for my daughter for Christmas, and luckily purchased the Merchandise Replacement Agreement, because we are returning it today. Although one of the other reviewers on here gave a tip to recircuit the wires, and that worked, I still don't trust the machine and will exchange it for an entirely different one. Just as a previous reviewer said, it freezes up and you can't even eject the dvd! SO FRUSTRATING, especially with an impatient four year old over your shoulder!
