Nice player but n built in wireless March 24, 2010

I purchased this Blu Ray player in October last year.  I liked the fact that it supported pandora and Netflix.  I don't like the fact that it does not have built in wireless.  The wireless adapters from Samsung cost about $65.  You might be able to use a cheaper wireless adapter.  I don't know.  Lucky for me I received a wireless adapter from a Samsung TV promotion.  Setup for this adapter was fairly easy.  Player has worked great for me under limited use. 

I would have given it 5 stars if it had built in wireless.

False Advertising December 29, 2009

As far as blu-ray quality goes this is one of the best. The problem for us is the false advertising on the box. This player DOES NOT come wireless LAN ready. You have to buy an $80 samsung router if you want to set up the streaming netflix and music. This is not worth it for us. No other router works.

This is a problem that Samsung does not plan to fix. If you have the extra money and time to spend, go for it. Otherwise pass on this one. False advertising and lies are no good in my book. This thing is going back to the store.

SAMSUNG BD-P1600

This is our third blu-ray, and our second Samsung and I will say what a improvement! Our first Samsung was a complete nightmare even with the firmware up dates. It is a positive and was a good thing we purchased the Sears extended warranty. It was replaced with this model we chose with doubt, and it was not a mistake. I brought it home and began the test, 12 DVD's put the unit to the test. 10 regular dvd's and everyone played, the 2 blu-ray's played with style and a very crisp picture and the audio was very good. One of the nice new features of this unit is the fold down front, this is really great when the "kid's" don't know where they put the remote. With a Samsung TV or smart system HDTV you won't have to keep changing inputs the HDTV will scan and find the connected input, I use the HDMI connection. Also the unit is no where near as loud as the last unit, it sounded like a can opener when it started and ran.

I have the 1500 but this 1600 is even better than it I am waitting for sears to get the new 4600 it comes with wifi on it no extra to buy and it is wall mountable.
