I had been shopping for a DVD player but I did not want to spend too much money due to my budget status but thank god I found this DVD player from Curtis. I have been enjoying all my movies and music on this economical device. All my visitors who come by to watch a movie on movie night loves the easy set up and display. They were amazed on how much I bought it for and some of them are planning on buying one as well....I bought one for my neice for her birthday and she loved it..Thanks a bunch to the sales rep at Sears who helped me.

I bought this from a small Sears outlet and when I wanted to active the Progressive Scan it was not there! Six places on the box in English and four in French it says "PROGRESSIVE SCAN". Yet, it is Not a feature that is present in this model. When I tried to contact Curtis using the 800 number in the manual, I was connected overseas to a "agent" who knew nothing of DVD players and told me to call back in 2 days. In the mean time I tried a number of avenues to contact Curtis directly and None were valid. An address for repair service were the only ones they list and no phone numbers are attached to the address and back tracking the address leads to a variety of businesses- A Post Office Drop address apparently! Their web address lists an Email address that they Do Not reply to. Shaky ground with this company, if a problem occurs you will be SOL. Oh, when I called India back two days later they gave me the same Email address to contact that is not monitored. They refused to give any valid contact address to send snail mail to. Bad Business. Sears should have investigated this Company first.

bought for a x-mas gift and when i set it up could'nt even get the onscreen menu to come up !!!! ( and i am very technically inclined )
always onlineJust what I needed: Not bulky, just right size-wise. Does what I need it to do and nothing extra. Means less chance of some component breaking.
tech savvyI have several friends who might enjoy this product. I enjoy shopping at Sears periodically and I like the electrical and electronics departments. Also I like the appliances. I am enjoying my Curtis cd/DVD player and although I do have trouble trying to operate the remote control. Overall it is a good product.
