    Fine DVD Player for the money! June 22, 2009

    I did not want the best portable DVD player ever. What I did want was one at a good price and a good size screen. This DVD player does that. The sound is much better then my old one, and picture quality is average. But, this is all I wanted. If you want a decent DVD player at a good price, a would run down to Sears, or at my favorite Kmart. It's no Sony, but that is especially fine with the pice. I myself am fine with it, and recommend it!

    Disappointed July 15, 2008

    I bought this DVD player to take on our family vacation, which consisted of an 18 hour car ride one-way. My kids watched a total of 3.5 movies the entire trip. This item worked hardly half the time. They would watch one movie fine, but then the next movie there was no picture - only sound. Other times the DVD would spin and nothing would happen or we would be 1/2 way through a movie and it would just quit - with us unable to get it back up again. NOT FUN. We spent most of our time in the car trying to get it to work, rather than watching movies. I was so disappointed because I was hoping the kids would pass the time watching the many movies we had taken along. And they were excited to have one in the car. We were so frustrated with how this item worked that I am sending it back.

    Bought this player in March, 2009....played okay until just recently.  Wouldn't charge  or play with the AC adapter...the picture would display but the voice would be staticy and then when the battery juice ran out, it wouldn't play or charge.  The weird thing is that it did work in the car with the  DC adapter..however, it just crapped out last week and now won't play at all.  Sears only offers a 30 day return and they didn't provide any help what so ever.  The paperwork from GPX indicates they only offer a 90 day limited warranty.  That should tell you something right there...most other brands offer at least a 1 year warranty.  Had to buy another one...will never buy from Sears again and will never by anything GPX...obviously they don't trust in their product to offer a longer warranty period.  VERY unhappy.
