    Great DVD Player December 31, 2011

    I am a fan of Sony products, though I'll be the first to admit that Sony is usually overpriced and sometimes not user-friendly.  This DVD player is very nice and does what I need it to do - play DVD's and have great picture quality.  It was easy to setup out of the box and has worked flawlessly.  My biggest complaint with this and all Sony products - is it so hard to make a lighted remote?  When I'm watching a movie and need to pause the disc, I shouldn't have to hold the remote up and try to read the buttons from the glare of the TV screen.

    Not impressed with Sony Customer Service or this player :( April 04, 2011

    I bought this Sony Blu ray player at Christmas time...it is now April and I've been able to watch only 1 movie. The picture was the same as if watching on High Def Cable and I noticed no difference in the sound quality like they say improves greatly. That is....on the 1 movie I was able to watch! It needs to 'update' every time you you try to use it and if you don't it doesn't work to even watch a movie you've rented! I tried the on line chat with Sony which was a 3 hour ordeal and Nothing was resolved! They talk to you in 'techie' terms like you know what they're talking about and don't end up helping just confusing you. I was Not Impressed with Sony's customer service at all :( Their are so many setup options it takes a degree in computer programming just to watch a movie? Ridiculous. Maybe the other players do not require this amount of help or maybe it is easier on different models but this one is useless at this point because it now won't even connect to the internet for the updates! argh

    This is a good BluRay player. I haven't had any problems with it playing discs. It has many good features besides playing BluRays. You can run applications such as pandora, netflix, and crackle. It also has a neat feature where the disc tray will open when you put your hand in front of the tray.

    trying to sell this now to get my money back, it is connected to the internet via wire cable, but it won't recognize the network!
