sony DVD player w/ Precision Drive 3 system ~ Awesome! September 09, 2010
I recently purchased this DVD player for my almost 5 year old daughters bedroom. They already know how to operate the controller and the buttons on the DVD player, it's only been one week! Amazing. I like that it is compact and light, and very easy to operate. I love this DVD player.

Sony DVP SR200P/B - 6 months & going down May 18, 2010
Cheaper to buy a new no frills player than replace the failed remote on a 3 yr. old Sony so picked this one up from Sears in Nov.09. Played fine at first with improved technology bypassing disc errors instead of stalling and locking. But, recently the machine started intermittently making funny noises and vibrating and now playback frequently stalls & skips. Guess I'll replace it with a new upconvert or Blu-Ray Sony & hope the new one lasts longer than 6 months !

Pros:
light,sleek design,valueThis is a quality DVD player for the price that performs all the necessary, basic functions. The only drawback is that it does not have a connection for a HDMI cable. I have a Wii gaming system, and every time I want to watch a DVD, I have to disconnect the Wii A/V cables in order to connect the DVD cables. My previous DVD player had HDMI capabilities, so I was able to have both devices plugged in simultaneously.

noiseThere is no longer any excuse not to have a DVD player hooked up to every TV in the house! This Sony product is a great value and is everything I expected. There is some noise from the machine on occasion, but nothing too annoying. For under $50, this unit is a no brainer if you don't demand a Blu Ray machine.

Overall, this player is ideal for use as a player for a bedroom or secondary tv, but if you are considering using this within a home theater setup, consider purchasing a player with an HDMI output to take advantage of HDMI's digital video output capability. Overall, this is a great buy!
