Not usable in the real world
We have a decently speedy DSL connection and we cannot watch even a postage-stamp sized video without continuous buffering occurring. Add that to the video content that hasn't changed in weeks (except the yahoo news feed), and you have a pretty worthless gadget. Why Sony would sell something like this with what appears to be almost no memory for buffering is beyond me. Maybe it can be fixed with a software update?
And I might add that the content available consists largely of movie previews and snippets, none more interesting than that available on YouTube, etc. with much less hassle.
AppleTV is looking better every day.

Anger Does Not Express Enough
Giving a poor Overall Rating is due to the lack of support for the device itself. Sony gives great person-to-person support, but the device needs the purchaser to buy and set up more gadgets such as a wireless bridge or powerline adapters and such. What is kind of nonsense is that?! If you have a hard wire cable Cat 5 cable that runs from your router to the DMX-NV1 then you are set, otherwise folks will trip over your cable when dancing and enjoying all the stuff the internet can bring to your TV.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY Works on Sony XBR only. You are locked into Sony's choice of sites. CBS only gives you clips no complete movie as you can get on your computer. music video's locked up on a 15mb service with Brighthouse. I took this back after 4 hours one night of testing and reseting it. Takes an hour to get it up and working. It seems to have the ability to transmit from a PC to the DMX but I did't even bother. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY
