Samsung  40'' Class 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV LN40D630  ENERGY STAR®

I will begin by saying thay I have not purchased this splendid gem of a LCD! I have spent days and hours researching this beauty and had a few hours to mess around with this bad boy at a local retailer and WOW!!!! This amazing LCD stole the show be when I was done inputting some magnificent settings onto it. To be fair I also had a samsung 40" 1080 p 120 hz LED right above this AMAZING LCD which I also dedicated the same amount of patience and time to tunning. In the end the lcd blew the led out the dam store! 

Blacks just jumped out of the TV and colors were vibrant and full but did not make you look away on bright scenes. The lcd performed like a true veteran of the HDTV wars and stood out like the GEM it was! A 60 hz was setup to the upper left of it but it could only keep up for the first 30 yards of 100 yard dash as this HDTV ALSO LEFT THE 1080p led 120 hz behind!

In true black scale and color vibrancy and balance this TV is outstanding and still two steps ahead of todays current LED TV's within 40" to 46". If this gorgeous and well performing HDTV appears before you pick it up!

This tv is awesome. So easy to set up and such a great picture. The sound is good and the stand holds the tv in place. This was an awesome buy! You will not be disappointed with this purchase!.

I needed an internet TV so I got Sony-Google (Model# NSX-40GT1). Though I hd no problem with Sony's quality but was disapointed with Google TV. It was hard to configure and as claimed by Google TV, it was not ready to use. Though Google TV, it was trying to sell me other Google products so I ended up returning it and got this Samsung TV. Withing seconds I was able to configure internet. I was able to access my Netflix account and Hullu without any problems. It works great with my XBOX and Home theater. I am happy with my buy and glad to get rid of that stupid Google-TV

What an amazing television!!  I purchased this TV thru on-line layaway.  After I paided off the TV, I picked it up at the Northgate Store in Cincinnat, Ohio.  The layaway program was really easy to use and helped me budget out the payments.  Though, the main reason I am writing this is to comment on the TV.  The TV and Stand are very sturdy (not at all flimsy like some value TV's.)  The term "You Get What You Pay For" is correct.  The picture quality is amazing.  I definately would recommend this TV to someone in the market for a outstanding 40in set.  Watching Blu-Ray movies is a joy!!  Mike I.

I did quite a bit of research before I bought.  This TV turned out to be one of the best bargains for the dollar.  You can buy better, but the cost goes up dramatically for slightly incremental improvements.  If you just want a good picture for the lowest $, there here is your set.

I bought this TV from Sears on sale with free delivery. First off....this was the first delivery guy who actually came to my house when they said he would (between 7am-9am--he got there around 7:30), which was suprizing. After the TV got delivered, I immediately took it out of the box and hooked it up ( I was shocked at how sturdy the stand was...its like concrete ). The first time I turned the TV on, the picture looked amazing. After tweeking the brightness, sharpness, etc. I feel that this TV's picture can't be beat. I replaced a Samsung DLP and I love how quiet this TV is, compared to projection. Some people have commented about the sound quality, but I have this TV in my bedroom and the TV can go a lot louder than I am willing to listen to it at. The only thing I can say negative about the TV is that when watching certain channels, the entire 40" is not used. ESPN I know for sure is one channel that does this....it leaves about an inch or 2 of black at the top and bottom of the screen, while the commercials use all 40"(Not sure if this is the TV doing it, or if ESPN just broadcasts like that). Besides the not using the whole screen on every channel, I love everything about it, and I highly recommend this TV to everyone. My friend liked it so much he went out and bought one after seeing mine. He likes it too from what I hear. 

I've noodled on a LCD TV purchase for the last 5+ years. Despite reductions in thickness, lower energy consumption and reduced weight, I wasn't happy with slow refresh speeds and black color reproduction. I'm not a sports or video game junkie, but I was unwilling settle for less given the cost.

Eventually I got 1080p plasma for daily use because it provided the best picture and I couldn't beat the price. I've watch LCD TVs evolve and drop in price, and the recent batch of Samsung LCDs and LEDs have amazed me. Picture quality (esp HD broadcast and movies) is so lively that actors and scenes literally leap of the screen in a 3D like manner. Even 20yr old SD movies are displayed with a rich appearance.

Needless to say I'm very happy with this TV, and I may someday replace the plasma.

We replaced our old inefficient TV last year and have really enjoyed this TV. Got the floor model and it has developed a ticking noise when it is on, but doesn't seem to affect the quality of the image at all.

My one complaint with the TV is that there aren't enough input/output ports. We have a DVD/blue ray player, stereo/amp and satellite hooked into it. We just got a Wii and had to get a splitter because there wasn't anywhere left to plug in.

Being able to hook into netflix, you tube with the DVR has been great and the picture quality for blu-ray is incredible. Would get this again, but might go for a slightly bigger TV next time.

I am very pleased with the purchase of my new Samsung TV. It is all that I could ask for in quality. This is my first flat screen and I never thought that I would like it so much. Also the High Definition is a first for me too, also enjoying this new feature. I would strongly recommend a Samsung. I did my reasearch before pruchasing a tv, and someone I know who sells televisions told me that Samsung was one of the better brands. I am glad now that I decided on a Samsung. I took the 5 year warranty, but in all actuality, I am hoping it lasts me at least 10 years. That is when I can really write this review. As far as for now, I am pleased with the purchase. I only hope I feel the same way many years to come.
