The LC-32GP1U model includes special features that enhance the game-playing experience, including a "game mode" which optimizes the picture quality for game-playing and a custom-designed remote control that allows the user to quickly "jump" into the game mode and access the side-placed terminals for easy connections to video games. The game mode boasts a "Vyper Drive" feature, which reduces lag time between the game console and the TV to be virtually imperceptible.
This 32-inch panel boasts an incredible Dynamic Contrast Ratio for deep blacks and crisp picture quality; enhanced Fine Motion video circuitry for faster pixel response time; and wide viewing angles of 176 degrees, so users can view the television from virtually anywhere in the room. It also includes Sharp's proprietary 4-wavelength backlight system that provides a wider color spectrum to achieve deeper, more vivid reds than was previously possible. Additionally, the GP1U series include three HDMI inputs (with one on the side) as well as two HD component terminals (one on the side), all of which are compatible with 1080p signals from the latest video game devices. The LC-32GP1U features Full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080) resolution and 10Wx2 audio for an unparalleled high-definition viewing and listening experience.

Like many, I have search high and low and have read countless reviews. First off, the 32in LCD market for 1080p is very limited and thus a higher price comparable to those of 37" and 40" TVs. I probably wouldn't mind a bigger LCD, but it would be too big to put on top of my desk and overkill for my primary use which is a PC monitor. If your primary purpose is simply TV watching, then 720p would be a lower cost alternative. If you plan to hook it up to a PC, 1080p is the way to go as you would get more desktop resolution. Yes, there is a difference despite what many will say. Most major broadcasts are at least 1080i. I use this LCD for both TV watching and as a computer monitor. Because of the smaller size of this TV, video quality is pretty up there with most high end sets when hooked up with the proper input source. I sit maybe 3 feet away so I am able to see the fine details very clearly. This TV has a slight bluish tint which most enthusiasts will notice. I have adjusted it to the point where it's barely noticeable. I believe once the LCD warms up, it's virtually impossible to notice. The speakers can be a lot louder, but is not a problem for me because I hooked it up to my PC speakers. This LCD is an early 2008 model and I think Sears is clearing it out. As of this review, there isn't a lower cost 32" 1080p on the market that can come close to this set given its offerings.
Just bought this TV. Saw that it went from $799 to $599. Sears also had a 10% off special if you used your Searscard on electronics, so after taxes it was about $580 when it was all said and done. Great price in my opinion. A year or two ago, this exact TV was well over $1K. For 32 inch LCD HDTV, you don't really need 1080p due to the screen size, but I opted for one because I wanted to hook up my computer to it, so paying a bit more for this tv than a comparable 32'' Samsung or Vizio was worth it. It was easy to set up to my DVD player, satellite box, XBOX360 (via HDMI), and computer (via DVI), but there were no directions on assembling the TV stand. Just just have to figure it out. Even though it is an older design, the set itself is very attractive (glossy black exterior and silver accent), and looks good in a small living room or bedroom, much more so than a cheaper brand. So far, the set has performed like a champ. No dead pixels. 720p and 1080p performance is very good. It has no issues handling video games with lots of graphic/color changes. Sound quality is surprisingly good for this kind of TV. My only complaint is that the TV image has a bluish hue, more so than other TV's in its class, and you can't get rid of it in the video adjustments. Otherwise, it has performed splendidly for the $$$.
I have owned this T.V. for about a year and a half now and I have moved four times and it has never given me any trouble. The picture quality is pretty good, even with blu-ray disc's and the overall design of the T.V. looks nice (not cheap like some of the other T.V.'s out there). The Aquos has plenty of room to grow with you as well; I have a PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, my computer and a stereo with surround sound hooked up to mine with plenty of room to add more. This T.V. might not be as flashy as some others out there, but you won't be disappointed.
Great TV, had no complaints or problems with it. Excellent Picture!
