    Great TV November 19, 2007

I'm only running SD right now and the picture is great. I got it on sale at Sears for 1139.99. I wasn't worried about it not being 1080p...that signal isn't available in most place right now anyway. Definitely a great TV. Keep your eyes open for model year clearance prices from Sears.

Do require "bulb" November 19, 2007

I can't "review" this product but, will point out that they DO use SOME sort of bulb or you wouldn't see a picture. Sharp rates the bulb at 7 years at 50% brightness... (so figure 3-4 or less at full brightness) LCD TVs use a fluorescent bulb or LEDs to create the light, then create their picture by allowing the desired colors to pass through. Bulb replacement in these types of TVs is often painfully expensive as it requires near complete disassembly and re-assembly of the television (figure 1-3 hours)... on-top of the expensive parts which nearly always means waitiing for shipping.

We bought this tv at the black friday sale and we could not be more pleased. It is in out family room and it has a tremendous picture. After doing research on tvs we found that this tv offers everything you need from a company that has a good reputation.
