40" is the Smallest they come right nowResearched flat screen televisions for over a year. Read incredible reviews on the Samsung very thin LED sets and visited another store to take a look. "Blown Away with the quality" would be a serious understatement. However, the price at this other store was quite a bit higher than the cost at Sears. Looked online. If you buy from an online vendor, the TV is yours, working or broken. If broken, you have to wait for manufacturer warranty service. No returns. That's not good.
Sears had an excellent price and financing. Ordered online for in-store pickup. Received a confirming phone call and drove to the selected store shortly thereafter. Pickup was fast. Thirty minutes after returning home, we were watching the most amazing picture I have ever seen on a television set.
This is the best 40 inch set. Sears is the best place to buy it (this is our third television purchase from Sears). The entire transaction process was flawless.
As an update, we have since mounted the television on a wall in our kitchen. I used 75 pound strength picture frame wire screwed to two large screws on the back of the set, and two large hooks bolted into the wall studs. The power cord and cable wire are fed into the upper wall behind the set and exit out of the wall near the floor. I used 2 inch plastic wire grommets in the entry holes for a clean look. Fairly easy project if you keep your hooks level.
The colors are vivid. (Green grass and trees are a bit intense.) There is no glare. Good picture when viewed off-center. Sound is excellent with existing TV speakers. Sharpness on HD transmission is amazing. Located on a wall above a loveseat in our 400 square foot kitchen, the television looks great turned off. Turn it on and everyone is really impressed, from anywhere in the kitchen. Thank you, Sears!

Dissappointing unit. I am going to return ours. Reason: I thought this is a 120HZ unit. It is not. It is 60HZ unit. The 120Hz is a sales gimmick. Smoothing function. How they get away with advertising this is beyond me. I watched some action sports and even in most movies you can see the motion like a kid making a movie out of flipping cards. Movement 1,2,3, etc. Maybe I have fast eye. My wife does not think it is too bad. I firmly believe that if you are person that has done fast action sports or outside activities such as hockey, football, baseball, sporting clays, or hunting, you will not like this TV. I watched this TV for a total of 1 hour, and then turned it off as it drove me crazy. I am ticked with the false advertising at this point as well. Good ridance to this unit.
