Sharp  SHARP LC70LE640U 70-INCH LED TV

Overall its a great tv and obviously ENORMOUS! Movies shot at 24 fps looked a bit weird at first but after tweaking some picture settings that were suggested on a AV forum I found through a google search, its fantastic!

I purchased this television with high hopes that I would not be disappointed. This thing is unbelievably perfect. I never thought I would be getting such a great product. The picture in the store while connected to all of the other tv's in there, does no justice. When this monster gets connected all by itself at your house, you are in for more than just watching the tube. It's an experience. I will always buy Sharp Aquos tvs!

Picture is great, sound is typical of TVs, small and tinny. My biggest beef...who designs a TV with the USB in the back? To make matters worse, you can't use an extender with most USB drives. I can use a 3ft extender with my 8gb drive but it will not work with any of my six, 16gb+ drives. None of my 32, 64, or 128gb drives will work in this TV, extender or not. It does not state which brands or sizes will work. If I could put in a large drive, I wouldn't care as much. Another issue, I tried to play recent 720p and 1080p mkv files and the TV wouldn't recognize the audio formats. If you can work around or live without the USB function of this TV, buy it.

This sub-$2K 70" TV is a great buy. Very nice pic, comparable to TVs at twice the price. My only gripe - The location of the USB connection makes use, when hung on the wall, nearly impossible. The manual warns about using a USB extension cable. I tested it with a 6' extender cable and it worked perfectly. Nonetheless, Sharp needs to add a USB socket on the edge of the unit. One surprise was how well the WIFI connection worked and with easy setup to boot. I'm very happy with this TV.

Assembly of the base was simple enough. You should use a magnetic screwdriver to make it simpler to put in the last 4 screws holding the TV to the stand. It will make it easier to keep the screws in place while being installed down in the holes provided. The rest of the setup was simple and the picture is great. We have it in a very large room replacing a 57" Hitachi. The screen has a matte finish which keeps the screen from reflecting windows and lights like the old TV did. My only problem in setup was connecting to the internet. I had to unplug the TV for a few seconds and then try again. It hooked up immediately and works great. So far the only slightly negative thing would be the small amounts of internet widgets that comes with it. That said I use a blue-ray player with several other widgets that help make it complete. Still not enough of a problem to give it less than a 5 star which it deserves. I have used the TV now for 2 weeks and have found it to deliver a great picture.

The LC70LE640U has a great picture in HD. I watched the Avengers and was blown away. The standard definition is not that great.

This TV is great in every way! The picture is crisp and sharp. We see more details in people's faces and other small features than ever before. The colors are vibrant, and the sound is excellent for an onboard sound system. You don't need an external audio system! We are very happy customers!

I have a 55 Sony and the Sony picture is much clearer. It is hooked up to cable via hdmi

THIS TV IS AWSUM! SINCE FLAT SCREEN TV HAS BECOME SO POPULAR MY HUSBAND & I HAVE LOOKED AT SEVERAL FOR A PERIOD OF 2 YEARS. REPLACING A 60" REAR PROJECTION. THE CLARITY & INDEPTH PICUTRE IS TERRIFIC. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW TV & HAVE THE ROOM! WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED.
