I was in the market for an LCD television, i held of on a lot of good models because i knew the prices were going down at some point. I don't know if people are like me that are always looking for the best brands like sony, samsung, and a couple more, but when i saw this model at this price i knew this was the one. you can't beat its feature, 1080p, 3 hdmi inputs(i don't have to be changing hdmi's back and forth), 24p cinema, Ace and on top of everything is also an Energy Star. I don't know about you but this tv had me at hello.

VERY DISAPOINTING October 10, 2009
I was told that sony was the best to buy, i read about the picture going from light to dark, but it also said it could be fixed by sony, however even after the instillation it still was a problem. Called sony they wanted to give me a refubished tv after buying a new sony. Very disappointed. But after speaking to a supervisor they are sending me out new tv, i hope it's better than the one i had. Would not recomend sony 40"bravia

We had seen many great reviews about the Sony Bravia tvs, but they are priced slightly higher than some other tvs. Well you get what you pay for with this tv! The picture is great and we love it! The design of the tv is so clean and sleek looking. We want to get another for our bedroom now!

Pros:
Easy to Use,Easy to hookup,Picture Quality,Design,Sound Quality,Multiple HD outletsWith 1080p , 60 hertz, and front facing dolby speaker system, this flatscreen LCD Sony 40" makes even my old DVDs and VHS come alive! Just watched "Alladin" on VHS and you can hear all the jokes. My HD cable is not yet installed but standard cable image is really quite passable in standard screen mode. My previous Samsung flatscreen (took back) made this DVD look like live TV news when it upgraded the signal to 1080 p. Now it looks natural like film again. Cant wait to see the HD signals or blueray on the Bravia. So many color options you can tweak the picture exactly as you want it, and the remote has separate buttons for screen and input which allows you to easily switch between options and sources with one or two pushes on the buttons. I looked at over a million TV's and this one is just brilliant. Only down side is no USB port. Well, gotta get back to my DVD, "House of Flying Daggers". The musical score and the clarity of the birds in the background make this audiophile happy without a sound bar or surround system. I will call Sony to upgrade the software as one review here noted (and i noticed) sometimes the auto light sensor darkens the picture unnecessarily for a few seconds. 1 year P&L warranty is a plus. Sears is also a good place to shop . Miejer had this unit on clearance recently.

Easy to Use,Easy to hookup,Value for Money,DesignI recently purchased this TV and I am constantly amazed at both the Sound and Video quality; the pixels seem to literally dance on the screen.
It is a very sleek design and has many great feature -- I can hook up all my video games and my Blueray player without having to crawl behind the tv and unplug something each time I wish to use a different console.
Another great feature is I can plug my laptop right into it, and use the TV as a monitor; this works wonders for displaying pictures to friends and family.
I really have nothing bad to say about this television; it is a truely sleek and beautiful design, as well as amazing picture and audio quality.
I would rate this product 5 of 5 stars, and recommend it to anyone interested in purchasing a new HD television set.
