I was also concerned about Lip Sync issue so I called sears as well as LG before I picked up TV. Both assured that if I find any problem it will be fixed by them by either coming to my home or arranging transportation at their cost.....
Technical rep at LG also mentioned that the can send a software update on flash drive if I find any lip sync.
But, I didnt notice anything, and I am too happy that I made the decision.
Anyway if you have a problem here is what I found from another site and I have just copied and pasted (i didnt need it though....).
1) Press and hold the menu button on the side of the TV then press and hold the menu button on the remote until the display says "Enter Password"
2) Enter four zeros from the remote control to get past the password screen (you should now see an "IN START" menu with all kinds of information listed)
4) Look at the lower left corner where there should be a numbered menu -- menu option 4 should say "System"
5) Use the down arrow until the word "System" is highlighted (pressing the number '4' will not take you down the menu) and press the enter key (you should now be on the System menu near the middle of the screen)
6) Press the down arrow to option 9 "Lip Sync Adjust" and then press the left arrow to adjust the value to zero (mine was set to 20 from the factory)
7) Press the return key to get out of the menu and bingo, you're done!

If you google "LG lip sync issue" you'll find plenty of reasons not to purchase this TV. LG is becoming more and more mainsteam so I thought I would try this set. It looked like a good value until I got it home and realized that the sound doesn't match the picture. Seems LG has been having this issue for years and can't get it corrected. From my research on this problem it seems that LG is very aware of it, but is still allowing these TV's to be sold. Coupled with the fact that the picture wasn't up to par either, tells me that LG is a second rate company.

a bargain hunter5 stars!!! I did some major research on this HDTV and it was an AWESOME buy at sears. The picture is unbelievable and has great dynamic colors. 4 HDMI's and a USB input for veiwing you pictures of a camera. I put this huge 55" HDTV up on my living-room wall and I have been receiving nothing but great compliments ever since. The TV has different picture settings for everyone's liking (Energy saving, Standard, Sport, Cinema or Expert- which you create your own picture setting). I would recommend this HDTV for watching sports, PS3 gaming and of course your day-to-day high def programing. One thing that is really cool is the energy saving feature on this HDTV that controls the picture brightness during day and night time viewing. LG did a nice job putting this HDTV togehter buy producing a beautifully realistic picture for half the cost of the big name HDTV's. Last thing, the sound on this HDTV is pretty good, but I would recommend a good surrond sound system to get that in the theater awesome picture & sound feeling. Enjoy!

I see a few people have experienced lip sync issue but I have not. The tv just works great and the picture quality is just awesome. I have my dishnetwork, blueray , ps3 and wii hooked up to it and everything works just fine. As far as I have researched around, the lip sync problem seems to be an issue when you are using cable instead of dish or direct tv. One cable user had solved that problem by using component cables instead of HDMI cables. For 1399 you can't find a better 55 inch any place else. Hope this helps. Have a great day!!
a gadget geekWe just bought this TV and absolutely love it. Picture is crystal clear. We have not seen the lip sync problem that other users have reported. I have a friend who purchased the same exact model who also has not had the lip sync problem.
