Great picture and sound! April 03, 2011

We bought this TV back in November and are loving it! We decided to go with the RCA mainly because of the great price, especially for being a 42 inch. I can honestly say that even after 5 months we are still in love with it! The picture and sound are comparable to other "big name" TVs, and we have not had one negative issue with it.

RCA 42" HD TV is a bitter disappointment. February 04, 2011

I own a 32" RCA and think it's absolutely perfect, so when I needed a larger screen I decided to buy another RCA. I was so excited to get this television home and set up. I turned it on and noticed right away a couple of pixels were broken so there were holes in the picture. Also the picture was not crisp or clear. The contrast ratio is a component of the television that determines the clarity of the picture and the contrast ratio for this TV was 4,000 to 1 vs other TV's with much higher contrast ratios (50,000:1). I learned my lesson there. Also, this TV is not aesthetically pleasing. The entire bottom of the TV has a red plastic base sticking out from it that I thought was just protective and removable. It's actually permanent and quite ugly. I returned this television right away and am trying to shop more wisely for the next one.

I bought tgis tv about 2 weeks ago and i truly enjoy it, it's not too big. Picture quality is great and the price was reasonable. Blu Ray discs look awsome on this tv. Great buy.

just purchased this 42in tv for my mom because she didn't have a lcd television. The picture on the screen is great. Good color contrast and better yet no need for a converter box. I would recommend this television to everyone who is in need of a new t.v plus kmart has the best prices on electronics

Color and clarity are good for screen size. Television is located in bedroom and approximately six feet away easily viewed without straining to see television. Good value for the money. Sony's are good products and would definitely it recommend it to others.
