Works great! Sound quality could use some help. November 20, 2009

I bought this TV about 2 months ago and it's workding great.  Great picture quality.  Perfect size for a small bedroom.  I havent' had any issues with it.  Sound quality  is ok. The speakers are the bottom of the screen versus the front like my previous tv.

It's a good television, but it has some problems January 19, 2011

So I bought this television as a nice addition to my dorm room. Here's my thoughts:

Picture quality: In the store, the picture quality was awesome!! However, I am using the cable hook-ups in my dorm room... if you are using an analong cable signal (as in, you plug it directly into the wall without running it through a cable box) the picture on some channels may appear pixely, distorted, or blurry. However, when I took the unti to my friend's house (who uses digital cable, minus the HD signal) the picture looks just fine.

Also, I recommend sitting far away from this television (about 5 feet is good, but it's good to be back further), to help fix these problems.

In addition, if you are using a cheap DVD player, I would also recommend upgrading to an "upconverting" DVD that will increase the picture quality. Some DVD's (especially my DVD's of Family Guy and Futuram) don't show up well and almost appear to be in "double vision."

Sound quality: I don't see what the big deal is with the sound quality... I don't detect a big issue, but then again, maybe I'm not used to televisions with "good quality" sound. The only problem that my ear can detect, is the fact that on some shows, the music overpowers the voice. To fix, just switch to mono.

Closed Captioning: I grew up with televisions that had closed-captioning on and I have continued to have it on because I'm used to it. The closed captioning feature is nice and produced accurate captioning. For families who switch between having shows captioned, the captioning tool is easily turned and off via a special button on the remote.

The default captioning is slightly hard to read at times, as sometime it's using "lower case" lettering.

    Other features:

Timer: A timer allows you to have the television turn on or turn off at whatever time you like. You can present the volume and channel as well. I like this feature because as a college, I find waking up to be the hardest part of my day, being able to awake to the weather or news is a nice feature. If you have the USB hooked up, you can awake to a certain picture or music.

USB Access: A USB drive allows you to plug your flash drive into the television. You can play music or make a photo slide-show. There are many options on duration, speed, etc. A good feature if you enjoy showing off photos or wish to play music on your system.

Picture Modes: Many different picture modes and color brightness options. I recommend darkned to produce the best quality.

OVERALL: Overall, this is a good television for a dorm room, bedroom, or a TV for those don't want or need a larger screen. It's also perfect for using your laptop on. I would recommend this television to everyone, just be careful if using analog cable...
