I had a 42 in LCD and wanted something bigger. Went online and researched differences between LCD and Plasma..This particular TV had great reviews for the class it was in. When I got it home and hooked it up I was greatly impressed with the colors and clarity right out of the box with no changes in settings. Plenty of hook up for all of you gear and a swivel base also. Enjoy it with my surround sound everyday..........

Great picture looks a lot better at home than in store. October 25, 2009

We purchased the plasma last friday and could not be more inpressed with the picture. When we hooked it up Samsung surround sound it became the perfect system .  By the way all HDMI cables must be purchased seperately. The tv's sound is good but the surround makes it excllent. The picture is even better at home due to lighting I would suspect . I would say for the price plasma is unbeatable and I would reccomend it to anyone lookging for a greate tv.

I bounced around from site to site looking and comparing plasma's to LCD's and Panny's to Sammy's....and hands down this is one of the sweestest TV's I have ever seen operate, and I have owned my share of powerhouse TV's....from Pioneer's to Sony....This is by the sweetest picture I have seen.  So crisp, so clean.  Videogames look stunning, NFL Sunday is jaw dropping....in other words, save your money, and instead of buying a $2500 TV, buy this one, the Samsung PN50B550...it looks JUST AS GOOD!

When I viewed the TV in the store it was awesome! I was compairing it next to the LG with the same specs and the Samsung was faster and crisper in image than the LG. The price compaired to BestBuy was staggering! After i purchased the TV the shear size of the box had me concerned when loading it into the Scion XB (please fit!?). If you have no front seat passanger you might get the whole thing into car and be able to close the hatch. DIY installation was super easy, two people are suggested for attaching the base or three is mounting it to a wall. The image is perfect and the colors very vivid. The menus are very user friendly as well. I highly recommend this TV for anything that has fast movement, the high 600hz gives no lagging blur to the image so this is great for racing, sports and/or actions movies. One annoying feature that is the down side to a plasma is the slight brunt in image thing on dark colors it is very subtle. Example, I watched a wide screen formated movie with the black bars on the top and bottom of the movie. The movie had subtitles in white lettering ove the bottom black area. I could kind of see where the lettering image was on the black area of the screen when no letters were present and it was a contrasting difference in the black tones. LCD's don't do this. There is no lasting burn in that I can see, just don't leave it on a static screen for too long. They do have a burn in utility to help with things though. All in all I love the TV, Hope you do as well.
