Good TV, Sears treats you right January 29, 2010

I really like this TV. I'm not gonna run off and elope with it or anything, but for the money, it's a good bet.
I bought this TV and really enjoyed it for about a day. I discovered, after watching a movie with some darker scenes in it, a discoloration on the left side of my screen. It was just a little semi-circle that was lighter than the area around it. In my opinion that is just not allowed in a brand new piece of electronics. Took it back and had NO hassle returning it to Sears. Bravo to them and their wonderful customer service.I got a new one the same day, took it home and put it together and haven't had a problem since. I take that back, the TV is a little off angle sitting on the stand. I slipped a few cards under one side and got that fixed right away. I'd rather have it wall-mounted anyway.
Here are the quick facts:
Pros - Good (not great) black levels, good sound for my apartment (keep it at 20 our of 100 and don't dare go higher for fear of annoying the neighbors), Good picture, auto-fits SD to screen intelligently, PRICE!
Cons - Menu can be a little tricky (but who cares, you only use that for the first week anyway)
Takeaway lesson: Super good value for the money. You aren't buying the Range Rover of TV's with this one. You're buying a Toyota. For my college budget, that is just right

720P VS 1080P Still greatGood TV for the money has a great picture. I use a suround sound system and all of my equipment goes through it so I have just on HDMI cable going to the TV the others connect to my suround system. I read a lot of reviews complaining about having to few HDMI connections but most people do have a surround system and I would much rather have just two cables one for power and one HDMI going to my set as it is hanging on the fire place.
