Great TV for the price at Sears! November 02, 2009
Shopping on line at Sears was a great experience. This TV was less expensive than all other websites. I checked for the 30 day period and it never got cheaper until Sears actually lowered the price. We simply took the receipt into Sears and they gave us the difference in price. This TV was a great price for an excellent product.

I purchased this TV as it was the one consumer reports recommended. Looked great until it stopped working!!! I paid $1,000 during a black Friday sale and the extended war. was $400 and since these things are not suppose to break it was not worth it. Turns out I have 2 bad boards. Cost of the repair $1000. I feel bad as I recommended this set to my secretary and now she may be sitting on a time bomb.

DON'T BUY IT--IT WILL DIE ONE DAY OUT OF THE BLUE January 05, 2012

Pros:
Picture QualityThis Tv was just too good to be true for the price we paid.
Great image quality, yes, but these Panasonic plasmas are all defective.
It may happened to you in a week, in a year or 2 years later as it did for us.
The TV just stopped working one day and gave us the "red blinking lights of death". Just google it and you will see THOUSANDS of people with the same problem. Dissatisfied folks are trying to put a class action suit together (that is how wide spread the problem is).
I bought this tv even though I had read about this problem and I regret it. I thought "it won't happen to us"....It WILL happen to you soon or later...

decreasing black levels,Picture AdjustmentI purchased this set back in May 2009 and throughly enjoyed this set until recently. Now the black levels have increased, so the advertised black levels are no longer met, and image retention has increased with this set. While the set was new I could turn off the lights in our room with a blank screen and you couldn't see the tv except for the red power led. Now the set glows like a cheap lcd with the lights off. The image retention has gotten worse as well. If I open the menu to change a setting on a blank screen you see the menu on the screen for a good 20 minutes after the menu has been closed. The black levels can't be fixed by adjusting any settings on the tv. Panasonic has admitted to this issue and aren't prepared to do anything about it. They say there is no fix because there is nothing to fix. I recommend Googling panasonic black levels for more information. Also check cnet's reviews on this TV.
It's too bad really. I was really excited about owning a Panasonic plasma, and enjoyed the set while it performed as advertised. It is kind of like buying a car with 400 HP and 9 months into owning it you get 200 HP.

First one was defective with a miscolored line down the middle, but they returned it easily and the next one was perfect.
Simple to use, nice size and color options. Displays standard def great which was a worry of mine.
Also my laptop pumped into it also looks amazing. A 42 inch computer monitor.
Overall, I couldn't be more pleased especially for the price.
