    Great Zenith 50-inch plasma TV, great price! January 05, 2012

    I purchased this TV on-line and went to my nearest Sears store to pick it up.  The pick up service was quick and easy and a helpful Sears employee helped me to load the TV into the back of my SUV.  When I got the TV home, the first thing I did was set it up on the supplied stand.  I used a regular screw driver to insert the screws into the base and at first it was a bit wobbly.  I then carefully used a drill with a screw driver bit and the screws went in tighter and the base is now very secure.  Once I turned the TV on the set-up was very simple and easy.  I was immediately amazed at how clear the picture quality looked.  Like other reviewers have stated, I also turned off the inelligent color sensor and used my own personal preference and the colors on the TV were much brighter and life-like.  I purchased this TV to replace a 32-inch LCD TV in my family room.  I always wanted a 50-inch TV and this one turned out to far exceed my expectations.  I really enjoy the TV for its, size, picture quality, sound, and unbeatable price.  I have had company over on two seperate occassions since I purchased it and they were all instantly amazed at this TV and even more amazed at the price.  I think I may have sold one of my friends on getting one of these TVs!  It is also great for Blu-ray movies and sport events.  I did my research extensively on this TV and several others and read as many reviews as I could.  I took a leap of faith on this TV set and I'm really glad that I did.  I don't normally write product reviews myself, but I was so pleased about this purchase that I felt that I needed to let others know what a great deal this TV set is.  What are you waiting for?  Go out and get one for yourself.  You won't be disappointed!

    Bad luck January 05, 2012

    I'll start out with saying this TV is a good value for the money. It's not perfect, but perfect TVs aren't this cheap.

    I was disappointed by the picture quality. Even after calibrating the unit, the colors were "blah". Whites were not crisp AT ALL and reds were a dull brown-ish color.

    The sound was actually decent for the price range. Be aware that they try to bounce the sound off the wall behind the TV. Due to our furniture arrangement, this meant that the speakers were pointed down our hallway. The TV volume was just as loud in the back bedroom as it was in the living room.

    I ended up returning mine due to a screen shake problem it developed. The entire picture would bounce up and down for a half-second, then play normal for a minute, then bounce again. I swapped the TV with another LCD I had and the picture was fine, thus ruling out a problem with the DVR box or HDMI cable. I declined a replacement unit as I was unimpressed by the picture quality.

    It makes for a wonderful viewing experience. One note, when programming a universal remote, such as you have with a cable box, need to try the LG codes, as the Zenith codes didn't work.

    We bought our 50 1080p plasmaHDTV inch flatscreen Zenith television from Sears in Dalton Ga two years ago, at the time of purchase we dded the extended warranty to the price , we were remembering the tv's purchased at other stores and how they broke down in the first 2 years, I am proud to say that with the product purchased at Sears in Dalton GA we have had no problems the store is awesome and I would most definetly recommend this Sears to any body I can!!

    I just got my HD receiver from Directv and even the technician was blown away with the picture quality on the HD channels. since LG owns Zenith you can tell the quality has pass on to them. I use my PS3 also and it works like a charm the audio is weak but nothing that a nice sound system can't fix. I would purchase my next Zenith soon for my guest room.

    First time plasma owner and I have to admit I'm beyond satisfied with this product. Picture quality and the 600hrz refresh rate makes Blu-rays and video games look amazing! I also own 2 other LCD hdtv's and this blows them out of the water. Only thing I thought I had an issue with this tv was that I had already gotten burn in (not use to Plasmas and their cool down) but after the TV cooled down images were gone and no burn in. If sears ever puts this product on sale again I'll probably buy another one for my bedroom.
