The best of Soundstage in full 1080p HD January 19, 2009

As far as I have heard, Sears is the only source for this enjoyable Blu-ray disc. I was one of the first to purchase it when it was released last year. If you have seen Soundstage concerts broadcast in either 720p or 1080i on PBS, get ready for a treat to see the shows in full strength 1080progressive, which shows off the various concert stage lighting and close up details of the shows. I was hoping to find a compilation disc just like this, so I could sample at least one song from several artists to see which I wanted to get the whole concert of. Two of the artists showcase two of their songs, including Jewel, the singer/songwriter from Alaska. Also you get a duet with Josh Groban and some great performances of 70's and 80's superstars Foreigner, Heart, and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers with their classic early-Mtv vintage hit "Refugee". Michael McDonald of The Doobie Brothers appears solo as does a reunited REO Speedwagon. Other great gems happen to be my favorite songs by the artists; "Feels Like the First Time" by Foreigner, "Magic Man" by Heart, and "The Chain" by the reunited Fleetwood Mac. Stevie Nicks also appears solo in another performance. The legendary country singer/songwriter and 2008 Kennedy Center Nominee George Jones also plays his signature song here and Tracy Adkins provides more modern country music. Two of my other favorite artist are here, Chris Issak with his most famous tune "Wickid Game" and Sheryl Crow with one of her big hits. All of these performances have consistantly high quality video and excellent 5.1 digital surround sound, although I would love to have uncompressed True Dolby HD or DTS Master Audio HD, but that would be my only wish. I highly recommend this to add to your Blu-ray library to play for your family and friends. Be warned, though, it might make you want to see the rest of the whole concerts of some of the performances...!
