I'm a fan of both systems and I can see advantages and disadvantages on both, but I guarantee that you will be happy in whatever system you buy, however in my experience if you are an online player I would recommend the Xbox 360, yeah I know you have to pay for membership, but is worth to pay (maybe 49.99 for 12 month) and get a better connection and support than not paying anything and having headache related to connection problems and not good online support!

Playstaion 3 is an overall better value. With the PS3 you not only get a more powerful game system, but you also get a blue ray player built in. Also, you can now play all your existing DVD's in 1080p HD resolution for no extra charge with a PS3 thanks to a system update in May. This update also ups the graphic quality of ALL PS2 games.

See all reviews for this productI've been an Xbox user since Christmas of 2006. I split the cost of an Xbox 360 with a 20 gig hard drive with my Mom- back then, it cost $400 back then. I paid $200, and she paid $200. We bought it from ******, and I recieved a $50 gift card with the purchase. I used the gift card to purchase Gears of War, and took them both home.
I had my Xbox 360 for about 2 years when the video connection malfunctioned on it. I bought new AV/composite cables for it, but it turned out to be a hardware malfunction, and not simply a problem with the cables.
I traded my Xbox 360 and all of the games to Gamestop and bought a Wii. Needless to say, the Wii sucks compared to the Xbox 360.
About 6 months ago, a friend of mine sold me his Xbox 360 elite and 6 games for $200. I have not had any issues with it thus far, and I am very happy with it.
I have been an Xbox gamer since around 2002- I have an original Xbox console at home, and I love playing FPS games like Halo, Call of Duty, Half Life 2, etc.
I use my XBox 360 elite every day. I have a recurring monthly subscription to Xbox Live- and I play online every day as well, usually playing Halo 3 and the NBA 2K games.
WHAT DOES THIS CONSOLE NOT DO?
Xbox 360 has a HUGE selection of games- and good ones at that. Not to mention the XBox Live Arcade, which rivals the Wii's Virtual Console and Wii Ware. I've found great classics like Duke Nukem 3D (which I had on the Nintendo 64), Wolfenstein 3D, Classic Doom, Call of Duty Classic, Marathon: Durandal, and many others. You also have great original arcade games, like Castle Crashers, Geometry Wars, and Hexic.
It is a console that caters to every gaming audience- from the hardcore gamers who like to play shoot em' up first person shooters, to the casual gamer who enjoys playing arcade games like Uno and Peggle. Xbox 360 even has a selection of children's games, to complete the circle. Even more than the Wii, it's really designed for any audience.
With connectivity in mind, the Xbox 360 really is versatile. If connected to your wireless home network, the Xbox 360 can wirelessly stream and music, movies, and pictures from your Windows PC. It also sports the Windows Media Center expender, which will act as an extension of your Windows Media enabled PC.
With last year's firmware update, the XBox 360 also features compatibility with your Netflix subscription, allowing it to stream and play Netflix movies instantly on your television, connections to Last.fm, which allow you to listen to free online music content featuring your favorite artists, and the ability to update and view your Facebook and Twitter status as well.
THE BOTTOM LINE: THE XBOX 360 ELITE IS THE PERFECT MATCH FOR HARDCORE GAMERS AND TECHIES, AND A GOOD INVESTMENT FOR THE CASUAL GAMER AS WELL.
computer literateWhat can I say? Xbox 360 rocks. Awesome games, graphics, and 1080p. I bought so many games I can't keep up and I haven't mentioned Xbox Live, which is another reason to buy the 360. One slight problem is the drive is a bit loud, so I use my HD-DVD drive for that and problem solved. If you can find it for $30 it's worth it.
I haVE a great time playing this console and video game system. The wireless controls are easy to use and if you have rechargeble batteries they last a few days.
The graphics are fantastic (if the right games are played). Gears of War, Dead Space, Mass Effect, etc. And the sound is awesome.
I've gotten some great use out of this console and my experiences are all positive and this past black friday i got one to my nephew you can find this console also at kmart with a combo i give 5 stars
the xbox 360 elite alone is 299.99. now why is the bundle also 299.99 and why is it that when i went to buy it the bundle was not available. it was just purchased yesterday. or it could be that the salesperson did not want to look it up. because he wouldnt even check to see if the normal xbox elite was in stock. thank goodness for the good sales associates.....
