Fun times! March 29, 2011
We bought a Wii for our sons birthday and it is so much fun! He loves it and we enjoy it just as much as he does. I also love the assortment of games for the wii, they have a lot of games that are very kid friendly. Although you do have to be careful to make sure the wrist straps are on and there should be enough space for plenty of movement or somebody could get hurt.

Novetly System.....Not For the Avid Gamer...... September 28, 2009
I had this system for a few weeks before I turned around and re-sold it. I've had the PS3 for quite some time, and the Wii just can't compete with it in any way. It is however a very unique gaming experience. Don't expect high quality graphics, interent connectivity or the ability to play DVDs/Blu Ray. My 10 year old daughter loved it for the first few days, however she never turned it back on after that. She was bored. The price drop helps being at $199, so I may buy a bunch to resell come the holidays, but I wouldn't recommend this system if you're a true die-hard gamer. This won't be for you if that's the case.

Solo play not as advancedThe Nintendo Wii is an excellent starter video game console. In preference, I like it more than the PS3 and the Xbox360. The Wii is more so a social console, in which the best games are the ones you play in groups, with friends, with family. Your grandma, your mother can enjoy a game or two. Not particularly for serious gamers who like more sophisticated controls and what not. It can help you exercise, get in shape, play some music, there are so many different games to enjoy with the Wii, you can revisit the Mario genre, or any other games that make you nostalgic. Plus, I think the design is cool and it is definitely cheaper than the competitors.

It came with the first sports game and we also got her Super Smash Bros. At the time she was 16, so not much of a child anymore, and she loved it. I saw her play the Sports game and work her but off. I couldn't help but to pick up the controller and set up my own character. It was fun to make the avatar look-a-like but not as fun as the actual game play. My favorite sports game is the boxing training and fighting. Being a boxing enthusiast it was easy to get into it and realize how real the workout is, if done correctly. I don't know how many calories I burn but it's so addicting and fun you don't realize you're working out until you can't play anymore from fatigue. With our countries problem with over-weight children, this could be a starting point for them to getting active. It's not only good for them it good for everyone in the house hold. New software and appliances are becoming available this year as well too. At our home, we have just gone wireless. Now all the computers and gaming systems are online. Before I had the computer in the living room and will have to take the modem to my room to play on the PS3. I set up the Wii for my sister to go online and to my surprise most of the downloads of the Wii network are free. I downloaded some upgrades and stuff. My favorite was the Netflix download. Just download and set up the appliance on the Netflix website. We can enjoy Netflix in many rooms at the same time which is a great thing since sometimes we don't agree on the same movie to watch. All in all, the Wii is and awesome device that I wish I had growing up. My sister and now my family enjoy it more than ever. Great prices for bundle and such now at days too!
