Good buy, if assembly does not bother you November 30, 2010
Bought this Char-Broil 2 burner gas grill on sale at Sears. The assembly instructions were a bit confusing and it took me well over an hour to fully complete set up with a few hand tools. Generally the parts were of decent quality and the assembly was not real difficult; but it was time consuming. The instruction book and illustrations for assembly were somewhat confusing.
I don't like the way the gas tank is mounted. it has a rather flimsy support shelf for the tank, but it does work. The first time I swung the tank to place it on the narrow mounting shelf, the wheel almost fell off the grill because the hitch pin does not fully restrain the wheel at times. After a minor repair to the hitch pin, I've had no problems. The push button fired up the burner immediately and the flames are easy to adjust. Have yet to use the grill for a big meal.
The grill is fairly compact and light weight. Has two plastic shelves but it would be nice to have a shelf for cooking tools. There appears to be plenty of grill cooking surface for all our cooking needs which including guests may be up to 6 people..

Great grill for a beginner or for those on a fixed budget July 01, 2010
The grill needs improvement on the assembly hardware. The grill itself is not that hard to put together except for the clips on the underside of the knobs and ignition switch. The directions are very fuzzy and the picture is not accurate on how the clips go on.
The screws used for assembly are cheaply made. The nuts used to hold the screws are cheap plastic that strip very easily if you are not careful. They do not hold tightly so the side shelves are wobbly, especially if you are trying to move the grill to a different location. We substituted real metal hardware which alleviated the problem, but when you just bought a new grill, this shouldn't be a concern for the consumer or something one needs to have to worry about. This should have already been standard on the grill, and not an extra expense on the consumer.
Once the grill is fully assembled, it is very easy to use and cooks food evenly and quickly. Food tastes great with no aftertaste.

Cons:
Cheap constructionI realize this is an inexpesnive grill, but once we figured out the instructions from the confusing manual, it still didn't work. Seems like a" rube goldberg" design from a Junior Achievment project. We will be returning it if we can't get it to fire up.

Small cooking areaGreat price, but very small. Smaller than a similar model from a few years back that lasted 8 years. Plus it doesn't have a second tier rack, nor can you purcahse one for it. But it will serve the purpose of cooking for me and my wife. And you can always do a couple round sof burgers if you are having a party.

We are the type of people who grill all year round. We even took it on vacation with us!! After 4 years we needed to replace it. So we found the same grill for even cheeper so we jumped on getting it......Lets hope this one will last us 4 more years!!

Too low,touchy gaugeAlthough assembeling this thing was a mess (the parts weren't labeled vary clearly on the package) it has worked pretty well.
One word of advide though is that you find a way to either make yourself shorter, or make the grill taller. It is very short but sturdy on the legs provided.
The wheels work well too, something that I've had issues with when I had to move the previous grills we've had.
The food cooks evenly enough, but the temperature gauge is finicky, just a little bit off and it's either really hot or really cold.
I'm impressed with this grill as a low end but not enough to give it five stars. My suggestion, wait until it goes on sale (and it will), it's not quite worth the full price.
