We bought this after shopping and comparing grills at four different stores. It looked to be the best value. I got it put together in about 35 minutes and it's been in use every weekend since. It heats fast (I'm not trying to cook inside the arctic circle in a 20-knot wind like another reviewer. I wonder if they can see Russia?), and cleans up easily. The ease of getting different temps on the individual burners (and holding them) makes this a dream cooker. I can do skinless fish fillets on this thing without a grill topper. Great grill!

Bought grill mainly for 3rd burner searing....okay for hot dogs....tried to sear a steak....ended up with well done steak before it got seared...can`t tell difference between #1, #2 or sear burner... over 100 degrees outside when I tried this....grill never got above 350 degrees in the bright sun...battery was dead and grill was dented...you get what you pay for....pay more for a decent grill....very unstable and flimsy

a busy personBe careful buying a Kenmore Grill. The replacement parts that naturally wear out in 1-2 years are cost prohibitive to replace...my 1 1/2 year old grill has worn out flame tamers and a grill cook surface...these three simple pieces of sheet metal that protect, catch, and burn off the grease over the burners are $50 a piece for a total of $150 and the 2 piece Grill cooking surface is $75 a piece for a total of $150 to replace! So doing the simple math you spend over $300 of replacement parts on a $200 grill! I have a call in to Sears parts and am hopeful that they will reconsider their pricing model for these grill parts. I would hate to dispose of a 2 year old Kenmore Grill because the parts are cost prohibitive to replace! I am waiting and hopeful for a positive return phone call from Sears about the pricing!
budget consciousI shopped around for the best grill I could find in the 150-200 dollar range. There were other decent looking grills in this range at other stores, but this one caught my eye because it looked solid, durable and would do what I wanted it to do without too much fuss, which is to grill good food for myself or small groups of people (having it assembled for me at no extra cost is a plus too). I tried it out and my verdict is: this is a great grill for the price.
I was a bit concerned after reading some negative reviews saying that it doesn't get hot enough. It gets plenty hot if you bother to preheat it: about 500 degrees if you give it 15 minutes or so. If you have some basic grilling/cooking skills, this is a great tool for the job and for the price. First time around, I cooked a tasty meal for 4 that included bbqing chicken, searing steak and baking potatoes. The side burner cooks veggies and other stuff as good or beter than my electric stovetop in the kitchen. The searing feature on the right side of the grill gives it great easy versatility.
This is the first time I bought anything from Sears in years, and I would have to say that I'm glad I did. Is it durable? Time will tell, but based on the construction, I would put money on this thing cooking great for a few years.
a frequent barbecuerI am very pleased with this grill. I had it delivered and assembled, so I can't discuss ease of assembly. I'm not good at assembly, so I don't bother.
The grill fired up the first time on the first try, and has worked well ever since. The heating is even, and responsive to the temperature controls. To cool the grill down quickly-just lift the lid.
I have experimented with regular direct heat grilling and indirect heat smoking. It worked well for both applications. Next I'm going to try to dry out some beef jerky with it. Can't wait!
When I first got my kenmore 3-burner grill, I loved it. It is a great grill, but it's not standing up to frequent use. Are $199 grills supposed to be disposable? I had to replace the grids about a month ago for $50.
Now I've noticed that the inside of the grill hood is peeling. I don't want these pieces to fall in my food. I'm looking online for a replacement hood, but can't find any.
