    Kenmore 5-Burner LP Gas Grill w/ LED light control panel April 24, 2011

    Thumbs up on this one.


    I have been grilling for over 20 years and have owned two grills over the years. I made the decision to buy a higher quality grill and chose this one. It has a huge grilling surface, a burner on the back for cooking on a spit and a braiser on the side. The selling point for me was the thick grilling service. From the heat and the common use my previous grills cooking surface bent and had to be replaced multiple times.

    In my research this one compares to some I saw at ********** and ****** that ran near a thousand bucks. The LED lights are cool and assembly was pritty easy. I am also a big Kenmore fan and the Kenmore logo is great. I have had this gril for almost two months and have cooked on it every day.

    Leaks grease from the corners July 05, 2011

    I mainly bought the grill for the stainless steel grates, large cooking surface, and larger than average secondary grate. Those things I am pleased with, and the grill cooks to my satisfaction. However, there are some drawbacks that I feel I need to rate.

    First, after my initial BBQ, I noticed a nice big grease stain on my relatively new paver patio. After further investigation, I noticed that the grill leaks out of the corner. Seems to be a design flaw, since all the screw connections were tight. The bottom portion of the grill (near the burners) is not sealed/enclosed, and the corners are not welded. Not sure why, but this certainly seems like the reason for the leak. Called Sears, they offerred no advice. I wind up wrapping the corner in tin foil toi help stop it. Works a little, but I had to invest in a mat for under the grill so I didn't ruin my patio any further.

    Second, the unit itself is very flimsy. In my opinion, there are not enough interior supports in the cabinet. When you're looking at the units in the store on a nice flat linoleum showroom floor, everything seems sturdy. But try rolling it across a paver patio...sounds like a freight train, feels like a tin can. The casters at the bottom are undersized for a paver patio, and the cabinet doors wind up getting all misaligned. So much for that great looking grill.

    Lastly, there are no places to hang cooking utensils. Yes, I should have realized this when I made the purchase (my bad), but for the price I paid, a few inexpensive "s" hooks underneath the grill would have been nice (instead of the useless bottle opener).

    If this were a $200 grill, I wouldn't even bother rating it. But when you spend over $500 for a grill, you expect it to be solid, and not have design flaws. I would definately not buy this model again.

    purchased this grill last year absolutely love it We used it all summer long and since we had an early spring been using already this year. It is a good grill looks good no problems and cant beat the price. its going to be put to good use this year with all our cook outs.

    My grill was delivered as requested today. Assembly was very straight forward with no problems. The unit works very well and the design is great, with large work space on both ends. The shelves fold out of the way for storage. The ignitors works very easly and the finish on the product is great.
