Kenmore  4-Burner Gas Grill with Folding Side Shelves

Bought this grill 14 months ago first problem the electronic start stopped working after the second time of use, then went to clean out the inside and the whole bottom of the grill started crumbling into a rusted ply. We are not heavy users of the grill. This is after one year we did not leave the lid open ever. Without the bottom you cannot grill it becomes a fire hazard, called about the replacement of the bottom, well there is no part for that, you have to replace the whole top of the grill for $343.00. What a piece of ****, Kenmore doesn?t represent quality that is for sure.

I really like this grill. It cooks everything really well except on the right side of the grill. The left side of the grill is excellent, it is exactly what you expect a grill to be. But if you are cooking on both sides of the grill (a requirement in my household since I feed eight people) the right side gets done a goodly amount of time later than the left side (15 minutes or more depending on the meat you're cooking). I don't know if this is applicable to all these grills, but I intend to call Sears and find out. It had excellent reviews when I was shopping so will check back with them to see. I will get back to this later to see if I would recommend this to friends.

This is the first gas grill I've ever purchased. I was very skeptical at first, since I've always used mesquite/oak wood to bbq. Bought this grill with the conversion kit to natural gas. Sears would either delivery it for free in a box in 4 days or assemble it for free but not with the conversion kit and I could pick it up in 4 days. I opted to take it home on the spot, in the box, and I would assemble it myself. Assmebly was pretty easy. Installing the conversion kit was easy as well. Sears even reminded me to use plumbers putty on all the connections. Since assembly last week, I've used it twice already and I'm impressed. Quick ignition, fast cooking, and easy clean up. Before I would take ample time doing manly stuff, like gathering the wood, chopping of the wood, starting the fire, controlling the fire, and drinking them cold ones. Now, with this gas grill, I have more time to work on my "Honey Do" list, thanks KENMORE...!

Bought my first bbq within 2 months it blew the knobs off and flammes were shooting out the front. After having to call corporate Sears replaced the bbq.6 months later the second bbq has done the same thing and the bbq was turned off!!! the entire body was filled with flames. For my troubles Sears offered me $100 and a nother bbq!!!! Seriously!!!!! $100 dosent cover the time I have spent on hold or the food that was burnt to charcoal. (BTW all assembly was professinally done!!)

Purchased on June 16 2012 and have only used about 10-15 times. Folding shelves do not work properly when screws are tightened. They have to be loosened for side shelves to latch and then they are unstable. Igniter stopped working the first week. Called Sears and said to change battery. Changed battery and worked sporadically now does not work at all. Impossible to light without taking off grates and burner covers. Should have returned then. A true stainless steel grill is just that stainless steel. All the screws etc. that are not stainless rust and corrode. It bothers me that the stuff manufactured these days is junk and does not last. I would consider this a throw away grill after a year. That being said, before purchasing this I would purchase a cheap grill, as you will have to throw it away regardless. (JUNK) Sears customers service and telephone systems are also a waste of time. This used to be a brand and store you could rely on for good, reliable products. However; it?s all junk.

Was originally very happy with grill. The good: the fold down shelves are handy. Didn't think I'd miss a side-burner and I don't. The cooking grates are of a nice quality. Heat distribution but pretty good. Lots of cooking space. The stainless top and shelves clean easily. The bad: the igniter stopped working the 3rd time I used it. It wasn't worth dragging back to sears so I've just used a long handled lighter. The top of the propane tank is very close to the heat so I had to be careful to not burn my hand when turning off the gas. The Ugly: this is what disappoints me most. The bottom of the burner box has already corroded/rotted through and now has holes in it that allow food/debris/whatever to fall down into the lower cabinet area. Of course this is now 2 months after my 1 year warrantee expired so I have to either start looking for another grill or find someone who can fabricate some type of metal liner for the box. $400 is way too much for just over 1 year of use.

I'm disappointed in the SS quality. The lid has already started pitting with rust.It does cook well however. I will most likely return it for a refund,I also see it's now 75 dollars cheaper than when i bought it a month ago.It's probably worth $360 but i'd never pay the $429. I'll go buy a weber ............

I read all reviews before I made this purchase. I have yet to find any negatives, but it is still new. Seems solid, lit right up and I can't find anything wrong that I read about. A lot of people said that the tank was hard to reach, I don't think so. My grill heated up to 700 inside of 10 minutes. I can live with that. I will comment again in a month or so, I grill a lot.

Had this grill about a month. Pros: Well engineered for easy assembly, Ignitor system works well, Large shelves fold down/up with ease, Heats up quickly, Almost no flare up when grilling. Cons: Stainless steel cover lid discolors, should be painted black

We seem to be having an ignitor problem similar to some other people on this page. Tried all the suggestions, still isn't working. Lit it manually and the grill worked really well. Got plenty hot enough with only 2 burners lit for some indirect grilling. Haven't tested to see how hot it gets with all 4 burners, but my pork roast cooked right on schedule. That being said, it's a big deal to me when you spend this much money on a grill and part of it doesn't work at all.
