Great Buy!! Great Grill!! March 17, 2009

I went looking for a new grill about two weeks ago. I came across this one at a local store. I checked the assembly as best I could and took down notes about the construction. I went to a high end shop and compared the same basic unit to a high end unit costing more than $1,000 more. The differences are not that significant if the owner does a little extra work. First, the cover plates on the Kenmore are not anchored. This is not an issue as long as you watch for shifiting of the plates. Second, the grease catch is very small. You must empty the pan after two large grillings. Lastly, watch out for the final bolts on the install for the side assemblys. The instructions miss one step on each side in the pictures but cover it in the narrative. The difference is huge since you take a shaking unit and turn it into a solid machine. Overall, I am very pleased and proud of the grill. Nothing says your proud of your grill like a big red firehouse sitting on your deck! Great job Kenmore (Omaha Grills).

Problem with paint March 04, 2008

I was looking for a high quality grill. When this one went on sale, I settled for a lower quality unit. The grill seems to be well designed and assembly took some time but was not difficult. Unfortunately, I found the paint on the outer surface of the lid to be very brittle. A spot was already missing when the box was opened. Touching the area caused more flaking. Any flexing of the panel caused audible cracking of the paint. A new panel was shipped to my house. Unfortunately, I had to disassemble the original hood to remove and replace the panel. Again, I could hear paint cracking with handling. I was able to finish the assembly with no visible damage. The rest of the painted panels seem fine. So far, it functions well.

Love the Kenmore grill April 06, 2010
    via Community Review
    By Daisy48976 of Pueblo, CO

My husband purchased this grill and is the grill master. He has moved and I am waiting to sell our house so I knew nothing about grilling.  This grill is amazing the times are always the same and I don't have to worry about the wind or anything. Sounds dumb but for a first time griller things couldn't be easier.  The grill heats quickly and is an easy clean up.  I love it.

    Damaged goods... May 31, 2009
    via Sears.com
    By bpl77 of Michigan

I got this over memorial weekend from a local K-Mart. Got the unit home and was anxious to put it together. I had read online many reviews and one comment I had come across multiple times was about finding damaged parts when putting together. The main fram of the unit had a dent in it when I opened the box, it was in an inconspicuous spot so I didn't think anything of it. When I went to remove the "control" component of the unit from the box I was disgusted to find the whole left side bashed in. There was now way I couold keep this unit. I returned it to the store I bought it from which at this point had no more in stock. Very disappointing...

    Fantastic Grill March 15, 2009
    via Sears.com
    By yogi62 of Cleveland, Ohio

I bought this greill two weeks ago and have used it four times and it is fantastic. My old grill, which was 12 years, needed another major overhaul. We replaced it with this grill. The old one had to be watched so food wouldn't burn. The new one, although not foolproof, is a lot easier to cook with. I'm still learning how to cook with it, and I know we'll be grilling more than ever. Great buy and we love the color too.
