Ordering: Ordered online, picked up in-store an hour and a half later, they loaded it lickity split. Assembly: Easy as pie, took about two hours to put together (all it entailed was putting in a bunch of screws, nothing else). One slight error on their part though, they don't mention the need for four nuts that finish attaching the sides to the main grill body(no parts for it, no instructions, nadda). Fortunately this unit is 99% identical to a 3-burner Char-Broil which a buddy has and he showed me what was needed. Just search your toolbox and find four nuts that will fit, otherwise the sides will not be sturdy. Operation: There is a rather large gap in the back when the lid is closed that causes a tremendous amount of heat loss when it's windy, don't even bother trying to grill with wind it'll only get up to about 300 degrees. I just folded a piece of foil and put it back there to block the hole, I'm not to worried about it. Notes to sears: 1) Include nuts 2) Fix that big hole in the back

Note that this is the second grill I've ever purchased - the last one being a Kenmore that I had for several years and really liked until it was destroyed in hurricane Ike. Because I was so pleased with my old grill, I went ahead and shopped for today's equivalent. While looking at the grill in the store I noticed that the majority of the grills that were put together in the store had missing rubber 'feet' in the front that are used to cushion the lid when it is closed. The rubber had just torn off and the metal that was left caused the bottom of the lid to be dented and the paint to be chipped off. I was a little concerned, but went ahead and got a grill in the box to be sure that I got one that wouldn't have been abused in the store. After getting it home and unpacking it - sure enough it was already dented with the paint chipped and rubber feed half torn while in the box. I'm bummed because I like pretty much everything else about the grill, but I foresee the metal rusting with the paint chipped and just don't feel comfortable buying something flawed out of the box. I'll be returning it tomorrow and looking for an alternative.

I bought this for $126 its the same one ,but blue.Well i put together myself, its took about 3 hours.Installation was not complicated, but instruction a little bit confusing in some points. When i pull from the box it was missing rubber guards on hood, but i went to sears ,and they provide me with new ones. When I finish installation,I decide to light it up.Its lights up quickly no problem so far.it was like 55 F outside it was a windy day, i was waiting for 15 minutes, the most temputer its get hot was 300F with hood close on hi settings, but when you open the hood in 2 minutes temp was drop to 250 F, I'm new to grilling ,and i never own grills, this is my first one,so i can't compare to other grills.I read some reviews, some people complain that its not get hot enough.I call Kenmore, and ask them what is maximum operating temp for this griil , they said 450F,then i said that my dont get more then 300 F, they said it because its cold outside . So im waiting to get 70F day and then try to grill.Hopefully it will resolve my issue. But for now i would give 5.0 for look,4.0 installation,3.0 for operation.
budget consciousThis grill is ok but does not get hot enough i've only gotten it to about 350 and thats pre heating it for 20 min seams like all the heat goes out the back. it's funny becuase the temp guage has sayings like 300-400 BBQ and 400-500 grill 500+ preheat and i can never get it above 350 so for steaks not too good burgers and dogs ok chicken is ok too. Also i allready had to replace the regulator thinking that might help the heating issue and no luck.
Although this grill is nice looking and feels heavy, the design as indicated by other reviews is flawed. There is a vent or gap between the lid and the back of the grill that allows all of the heat to escape. I could not get the grill to heat above 350 degrees despite efforts to close the gap with aluminum foil. What looked like a great deal ($179) as a closeout was not a good value. There is a reason why these grills are still in stock. We unfortunately did not see the bad reviews prior to buying. The worst thing was a wasted afternoon assembling; the best thing was Sears gave full refund.

I have the an issue with the lack of heat being kept inside the cooking compartment. I can't get the grill much above 400F. That is upon start-up and once I start cooking, when you have to open and close the cover to check on what you are cooking you have all you can do to maintain 300F. I had the Sears service man check it out. Conclusion, the hood is a bad design. When we closed of the back side of the hood off the cooking compartment jumped to 600F in less than 5 minutes. The feedback from the manufacturer is that the unit is not designed to go above 400F. That is not good, I can't even get it hot enough to burn off the previous grilling residue.
The salesman was not real enthusiastic about giving me my money back! I purchased the maintenance agreement with the grill, maybe I should call them on a weekly basis to come fix it.
If rating from 1-10, I give this unit a 10 for looks and a 2 for functionallity!
