Craftsman  54'' 26 hp Turn Tight™ Garden Tractor 49 States

First time with a mower this big. Last two were Craftman 42's with Kohler engines. The Kohler engines kept the old mowers running for 16 and 17 years each. I sold one and gave one to my son-in-law. This new 54 inch Garden Tractor has the Kohler Twin with 26 hp, enough power to mow through just about anything. I have had it less than a month but am very satisfied so far.

Its by far the best "bang for your buck"! It's 54 inch cut gives me the ability to cut faster not to mention the actual speed of the mower, think its around 7 1/2 mph. Its a great machine and easy to use! If you're looking for a good mower that navigates easily even through or around trees, look no further!

I've been using this mower for awhile now. My yard consist of 3 rolling acres, many obsticles and a fairly steep hill. I love this tractor and the job it does. I added rear wheel weights and can run straight up a 35 degree hill. My yard looks like a golf course and I get many compliments. The power of this mower is remarkable, I've used it to tow a non running car off the property for salvage pick up. This is my second garden tractor in 15 years and I can only hope it last as long as the last one.

To the OP with traction issues, check your tire pressure level. All tractors are shipping with very high pressure pumped into the tires. High pressure can easily be causing your traction issues. Tire pressure ranges are embossed on the side of each tire. Turn tight works great, but only at slower speeds. For extreme maneuvering at high speeds rear drive zero turn tractors are the answer. This tractor is recommended for large relatively flat lawns with no long steep hills.

AFTER YEAR OF PURCHASING QUALITY SEARS PRODUCTS THIS TRACTOR FALL VERY SHORT OF THE MARK. IT'S HARD TO START,THE FRONT END IS LOOSE, THE DECK IS HARD TO REMOVE AND ON A TIGHT TURN THE FRONT TIRES LOCK UP. ONCE YOU GET IT STARTED AND CAN MOW ON A FLAT YARD IT MOWS FINE.

Good tractor for the money turns on a dime plenty of power one thing you have to do is let air out of the tires or you will have a rough ride cuts good to im pleased with my purchase

I bought this tractor in march of 2011 to replace my 1999 craftsman tractor. The tight turn they claim for this only works when you put about 50-70 lbs of weight on the front. If you have any slopes ,hills, and ditches you better have something to pull you out. The traction is terrible. Should have spent the money to fix up my old one.

I am very pleased with this tractor. It definitely meets my needs as I have 5 acres to mow. It cut my mowing in half from my 10 year old craftsman tractor. I think it does have a rough ride, but makes up for it with the Kohler reliability and heavy duty mower deck. One other suggestion is the hood is not secure. bounces around and pops open. I expect it to wear out prematurely. Overall I am very satisfied and the sales associate was very helpful.
