Craftsman YT 3000 42" Briggs & Stratton 21 hp Tractor October 10, 2010
The Craftsman YT 3000 42" Briggs & Stratton 21 hp Tractor is an excellent tractor. I used it twice since I purchase it about two weeks ago. The tractor is easy to operate and it does a great job in cutting the lawn. With the hydrostatic automatic I do not have to stop the tractor in order to change speed which has reduced my cutting time by ½ hour. The only thing I wish the tractor had is a hood latch. I highly recommend this tractor.

YT 3000 42" Craftsman lawn tractor October 26, 2010
I purchased this tractor to upgrade from a 7 year old Craftsman model 42". What i liked was the two purpose cutting blades, mulch or bag. It has a larger engine and 4 anti scalp wheels instead of two like my old one. I also like the fact that the fuel tank is much larger. I can mow two + times instead of once before refilling. It seems to be similarly built and performs much the same as the old mower except two things, 1-it makes more noise in the cutting deck, maybe thinner metal or the blade design, 2-It vibrates more from the deck and engine area. Overall, Craftsman makes a quality unit for less money than most. I had no problems with my older tractor, just wanted a newer unit. I bought this model because a Consumer magazine top rated it. I am satisfied, but not overly impressed over previous model.

blade switch in seat too sensitiveThis is a great mower. I have used mine for about 1 year now and have not had any problems with it. This mower has a great turning radius around flower beds and other obstacle's in my yard. The only con to this mower is the blade switch in the seat is too sensitive, when i try to shift my weight to mow on some inclines it turns the blades off. Overall this is a great value for your money and I would recommend this product.

Needs better bag full indicatorI used my Craftsman YT 3000 42" Briggs & Stratton 21 hp Gas Powered Riding Lawn Tractor for the first time and it went great. I live in New England and got it just in time to pick up leaves with the bag attachment. It worked well and I look forward to using it next summer to mulch the grass. Installing the bag attachment was easy.
